Yoshi's Island is a Japanese anime film.

Summary[]

Long ago, a young Bowser learned that the Mario Bros. would stop his rise to power, and so he sends his minions to capture the brothers, succeeding in capturing Baby Luigi. Now Baby Mario, with the help of his new friend Yoshi, must attempt a daring rescue.

Plot Elements[]

  • A stork is escorting baby twin brothers, Mario and Luigi, to an orphanage; the babies had been orphaned after the mysterious death of their parents.
  • Suddenly, Kamek attacks the stork, kidnapping it and one of the babies.
  • The other baby falls onto Dinosaur Island and is found by Yoshi.
  • Baby Mario asks Yoshi to go to Baby Bowser's castle to rescue his brother Baby Luigi.
  • Reoccurring Moment: Throughout their journey, Kamek constantly taunts the duo and creates monsters to kill Yoshi and kidnap Baby Mario.
  • Despite many hardships, Yoshi and Baby Mario manage to reach Baby Bowser's castle.
  • Baby Bowser attempts to kidnap Baby Mario and "ride that gween donkey", but is defeated along with Kamek, rescuing Baby Luigi and the stork.
  • The stork successfully delivers the twins to an orphanage within New Donk City, and the brothers are shortly adopted afterwards.
  • Mid-Credits Scene: The future Bowser is seen at a desk with a large map of a contraption he is going to produce to destroy the Mario Bros. once and for all. He then laughs as the screen turns black.
  • Post-Credits Scene: Yoshi discovers a weird box hooked-up to a TV set, along with a cartridge that reads "Wanna Play?" Curious, Yoshi puts the cartridge into the box and flips the switch on...just as the screen cuts to the Universal logo.
