| ~ Whisper the Wolf, Sonic the Hedgehog: Tangle & Whisper #2 |
Whisper the Wolf is a major recurring protagonist in IDW Publishing's Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs, based on Sega's video game franchise of the same name. She is an enigmatic soldier who aids Sonic the Hedgehog and his allies, especially fellow heroine Tangle the Lemur with whom she shares a close bond. She is marked by her two signature items: her high-tech mask, and her weapon-of-choice, the Variable Wispon, fueled by her own personal team of Wisps.
Like Tangle, Whisper has proven very popular among fans since her debut, so much that she and Tangle even got their own miniseries, and have also become playable in the games Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces: Speed Battle.

Idea Wiki appearances[]
- Whisper appears in James Cameron's Sonic Cinematic Universe, portrayed by Malese Jow through voice and motion capture. She appears prominently alongside her Wisps in Silver and Blaze, on which she sides with the titular heroes on saving the Wisps and the Sol Dimension from Mephiles the Dark. Also appearing in Chaotix: Between Dark and Light, Whisper and her Wisps become new members of the Chaotix crew. She also forms a friendship with Tangle the Lemur.
- Whisper appears in Sonic Presents... Chao in Space: Behind the Scenes, a comic book tie-in/prequel for Sonic Presents... Chao in Space. A member of the filming crew for the titular fictional movie, Whisper and her Wisps assist Miles "Tails" Prower on the movie's visual effects. She and her Wisps were later seen in the final issue, congratulating Lyla the Echidna for her portrayal of Tikal, and attending to the movie's theatrical release in the Westopolis World Premiere theater.
- Whisper appears in the Disney+ crossover miniseries Marvel's All-Star Multiverse, voiced by Laura Bailey. Whisper and her Wisps first appear in "The Sky's the Limit", among the Freedom Fighters who visit Babylon-6 following the emergence of the Skycruiser Commandos. She is shown in a metahuman competitive contest hosted by Princess Istar, dueling with an overconfident Hector "Hercules" Tegler, whom she swiftly defeats by haulting him with a shushing, and then catching him off-guard with a hammer blow of the Blue Wisp in Hercules's face, much to everyone's amusement. Whisper and her Wisps also befriend Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel after they are introduced to each other by Tangle the Lemur. She and her Wisps are later seen in the last two episodes "War of the Realms", where they assist the heroes in stopping the turf war between villains in the five dimensions, and "One Universe, One Realm", where they join the final battle against Thane and his armies in Titan.

- Whisper is a playable character in Sonic and Marvel Superheroes: Multiverse Speedstorm, voiced by Stephanie Sheh.
