The animated Indiana Jones film is an American 3D computer-animated action adventure film based on the franchise of the same name produced by Lucasfilm Ltd. and Paramount Animation, and released by Paramount Pictures. The film is directed and produced by George Lucas, with screenplay by David Koepp; screenwriter of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and story by Steven Spielberg; director of the original films. The film features Chris Pratt as the titular Indiana Jones, with Benedict Cumberbatch as Henry Jones, Meryl Streep as Marion Ravenwood, and Nathan Fillion as the main antagonist. Serving as the supporting cast are Hank Azaria as Marcus Brody and John Rhys-Davies reprising his role as Sallah. The film's setting is in the year 1946, where Indy reunites with his father Henry Jones, along with his previous girlfriend Marion Ravenwood. Upon their reunion, TBA.
Due to the fact that The Walt Disney Company currently owns the rights to Lucasfilm, including the Indiana Jones franchise, Paramount was unable to distribute the film. However, still owning the rights to the first four films, it was only allowed to produce this film while Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributed.
The film is set to release in RealD 3D and Digital 3D in November, and will be the first film in the franchise to have a PG rating since The Temple of Doom.
