Randolph Severn "Trey" Parker III (born October 19, 1969) is an American actor, voice actor, writer, animator, musician, director, and producer. He is known for co-creating South Park, Team America: World Police, The Book of Mormon alongside his creative partner, Matt Stone, and his role as Balthazar Bratt in Despicable Me 3.

History[]

Trey Parker was born in Conifer, Colorado, the son of Sharon Parker (née Kimble), an insurance broker, and Randolph Severn "Randy" Parker II, a geologist - the two share the first names and occupations of the South Park characters Randy and Sharon Marsh. He has an older sister named Shelley, which is also the name of Stan Marsh's older sister. Parker recalled in the DVD commentary for "An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig" that Shelley used to beat him up when they were kids, but did take the blame for him when he overcharged their parents' phone bill, showing that she did care about him. Parker is of English, Irish, Scottish, Norwegian, German, Dutch, French, Breton, and Welsh descent.[1]

Parker grew up in the Conifer, Colorado area, and attended Berklee College of Music before transferring to the University of Colorado Boulder where he majored in music and Japanese. However, he did not graduate. The university offered him an honorary degree, which he said he would only accept "if it was for astrophysics."
