Quotes[]
- Mr Bones: Beware the One-Legged Man.
(his last words)
- Squire Trelawney: Captain Flint was the fiercest and most bloodthirsty buccaneer on Earth. Captain Blackbeard was a child compared to him.
- Doctor Livesley: There's one man I'm worried about.
- Squire Trelawney: Who?
- Doctor Livesley: You... for you can't keep your mouth shut. If you blab it out to the public, you'd bust us to more buccaneers. Supposed those rogues be spying out for us.
- Dr. Livesey: When do we sail?
- Squire Trelawney: Better ask Captain Smollett. Five days, he's been selecting a crew. Six men, all he's got to show for it.
- Dr. Livesey: Cautious, eh?
- Squire Trelawney: Cautious? He pries into every seaman's past like a chairman at a quarter session. When I threatened to step in, he told me to hire a sea cook, so, by Jove, I did hire a sea cook, right out of his own tavern! Ha ha! Fellow by the name of Long John Silver. I didn't waste my time poring over his credentials. All the credentials I needed was a taste of his ham and his buttered eggs!
- Captain Smollett: Beware your pride Trelawney.
- Long John Silver: And this'll be young Master Hawkins, I'll be bound. Hawkins - 'tis a proper seafaring name, too.
- Jim Hawkins: Everything he told us was a lie. I've been a twit, sir.
- Captain Smollett: I suspected buccaneers. But Silver one... and from Flint's old group. Hmmmm. More serious than I feared.
- Squire Trelawney: Mutiny. I shall....
- Dr. Livesey: Calm down. Revenge poisons the soul.
- Ben Gunn: Oh. For a moment, I feared you were more mirages. I'd spoken to zero humans for three whole years.
- Jim Hawkins: Three years? Were you shipwrecked?
- Ben Gunn: Wrong. Marooned. Marooned.
- Captain Smollett: Nice try, Silver. But bribery fails on me.
- Long John Silver: I'd reconsider if I were you.
- Captain Smollett: Blackmail now? Well, listen to me.... you deceptive, back-stabbing rogues. You and your followers were goners. Without the map, you're unable to find the treasure. Even if you find the treasure, you're unable to plot a course to sail back. And think before threatening us. Jim Hawkins and his pets escaped you. So I suggest you leave.
- Long John Silver: You'd regret it.
- Tom Morgan: Those who survive would envy those who die.
- Junny: Jim. You're the bravest and kindest and cleverest boy I met.
- Jim Hawkins: You';re the bravest, kindest, and cleverest girl I met.
(they kiss)
- Jim Hawkins: Wow. You can sword-fight well. And such impressive martial arts.
- Junny: I studied up.
- Jim Hawkins: Me too.
