Tom and Jerry in Dragon Ball: Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle (トムとジェリードラゴンボール 魔神城のねむり姫 Tomu to Jerī: Doragon Bōru Majin-jō no nemuri hime) is a an animated fantasy martial arts adventure film and the second anime feature installment in the television film series, Tom and Jerry in Dragon Ball, featuring the characters from Tom and Jerry, Osamu Tezuka's Ambassador Magma and Dragon Ball. It was based on the Dragon Ball manga by Akira Toriyama, and was produced by Turner Entertainment, Funimation and Warner Bros. Animation in association with Toei Animation, Tezuka Productions, Dentsu and Yomiko Advertising, and written by Gene Grillo and John Burgmeier, with the original English screenplay by Christopher Neel, original scores from Shunsuke Kikuchi and Naozumi Yamamoto, and new music by Michael Tavera and Kenji Yamamoto.

Following the events of the Emperor Pilaf Saga in the previous television film, The Adventures of Goku, this feature-length chapter is the "what-if" alternate retelling of the second Dragon Ball film that was released in Japan in 1987. It will air on Cartoon Network in the USA in 2027.

Tom, Jerry and Tuffy returns to the Dragon World in the Dragon Universe, and reunites with Goku, who travels to Master Roshi's island, hoping to train from a reknown martial arts master. At that time, Goku's rival– a monk named Krillin also arrives and have the same desire of training. Before he will train either, Master Roshi suggests that Goku and Krillin must prove they're worthy. As a test, the Turtle Hermit sends them along with Tom, Jerry and Tuffy to the Devil's Hand, where legend has it that there is a sleeping princess. The one who can bring this legendary lady to Master Roshi will be worthy of training.

But others have their eye on the "Sleeping Princess". A determined, mysterious girl named Launch has set out to bring back the royal gem for her own monetary reasons. Also, Bulma, Yamcha, Puar and Oolong join in the adventure when they try to find Goku, Tom and Jerry. Surprises are in store for Tom, Jerry, Tuffy and the Dragon Team as the Devil's Hand is home for the sinister Count Lucifer, a vampire who schemes to destroy the Earth's sun and rule over the planet with an unlimited era of darkness. And to mark matters worse, not only he's backed by a league of ferocious ogres and goblins, but he is collaborating with Emperor Pilaf and his agents Shu and Mai on destroying Goku, Tom and Jerry and sharing his world domination desire with the blue fiend!

Can Goku and the gang, as well as Tom and Jerry survive the Devil's Hand? Or is the Earth doomed? Will Pilaf have his revenge on Goku for ruining his wish for world conquest and humiliating him? Or after his nine years of training with his Grandpa Gohan in Mount Pazou, will Goku use his Great Ape transformation with full control of his monstrous form to destroy both Lucifer and the Devil's Hand? Also, will Ambassador Magma, Silvar and Gam from the Planet Kanata in the ZRF Galaxy aid the monkey-tailed fighter and the real-world cat and mouse heroes again?

Character Quotes

English Version

  • Long ago, somewhere in a place where darkness rule the Earth, a castle stands among five gloomy cliffs that are known as the Devil's Hand. As legend has it, a sleeping princess of unspeakable beauty lies within the confines of the castle walls, guarded by the blackest and most sinister forces of the underworld.
  • And so, picked up from the real world in the solar system and brought to the Planet Kanata in the ZRF Galaxy, Tom, Jerry and Tuffy embark on a second journey to Goku's Earth, the Dragon World in the Dragon Universe, aboard the rocket form of Ambassador Magma and Silvar's robotic son, Gam
  • From the Planet Kanata in the ZRF Galaxy, comes the Space Avenger; Ambassador Magma, and his wife Silvar, and his son Gam, as rockets that are alive.
  • Magma transforms from a rocket to a robot to join the Great Ape Goku in a gigantic showdown with the Pilaf Machines, controlled by Emperor Pilaf, Mai and Shu.

Ambassador Magma

  • Tom! Jerry! Tuffy! Welcome back to Planet Kanata!

  • (catching a fish while flying on his way to Master Roshi's island with Nimbus) Gotcha! (laughs)
  • (seeing Gam in his rocket form with Tom, Jerry and Tuffy aboard appearing above him) Huh? Hey! It's Tom, Jerry and Tuffy on Gam!
  • Let's see. It should be—Hey! There it is! Alright!
  • Hey, we're back! Yo! Hello!
  • Hey, there.
  • (inhales, then screams loudly in Master Roshi's ear while he watches an exercise program with girls) HEEEEEEEEY, MASTEEEEEEEER ROSHIIIIIIIIII!!!
