Tom's Day Out is an American theatrical traditionally-animated cartoon short film, being part of the Tom and Jerry series. It is written by Paul Rugg and Deanna Oliver, produced by Spike Brandt and Tony Cervone, with Sam Register serving as the executive producer, and directed by Tom Ruegger. The short film is produced by Warner Bros. Animation and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, being released along with Sonic the Hedgehog: Wrath of Mephiles in TBD.

Plot[]

Tired of Jerry and his owner constantly harassing him, Tom decides to leave his house for a day, which Jerry comes to bring him home.

It begins with Tom chasing Jerry in his house with Jerry hitting him in the head with an anvil.

The animation for the short was outsourced to Rough Draft Korea.

The music for the short was composed by Ron Jones, influenced by Scott Bradley's work for MGM Cartoons.

Trivia[]

  • This is the first Tom and Jerry theatrical short since 2005's The Karate Guard and the first released after Joseph Barbera's death. Also, it is the first theatrical short since 1966's Love Me, Love My Mouse which Tom wins.
