The Surface of Paradise is a 1990 animated musical adventure dark comedy film directed by Paul Sabella. It is a North American remake of the 1987 Danish animated film Dreaming of Paradise. The Surface of Paradise follows the original film's plotline rather closely, with the biggest change being some of the more raunchy elements being removed as well as the change in tone. The film was released on October 9, 1990 by Miramax Films.
