The Star Knight[]

The max security prison planet known as the Iron Star has been broken out of by a mysterious figure as Rox Roquefort is sent to capture all eight criminals who escaped from the Iron Star. Outbreak[]

Rox has just ascended to a higher rank of the Star Knights, although things don't seem to have been changing that much. Her skills are put to a test when a major Star Knight sector is caught up by the Scourge, a mysterious plague which is spreading across eight different planets and turning inhabitants into mindless monsters, as Rox and her team must find a cure for this plague before it spreads across the galaxy as well while learning that the Scourge might be sentient.

Characters[]

Main[]

  • Roxanne "Rox" Roquefort (voiced by Laura Bailey starting in 2010) - a cynical and emotionless yet honorable Star Knight who uses her suit in order to defend the galaxy from those who cause trouble. She is deeply loyal to the Star Knight organization and doesn't like traitors at all, while sometimes changing her directive when innocent lives might be at stake.

Supporting[]

Introduced in The Star Knight[]

  • Commander Robert Vermillion (voiced by Keith David starting in 2010) - the no-nonsense yet disciplined commander of the Iota sector of Star Knights who is Rox's commander and boss as he is quite older than he used to be and is incapable of going out on the field but attempts to mentor and mold Rox into the ultimate Star Knight.
  • Doctor Sidney "Sid" Moonstone (voiced by Jennifer Hale starting in 2010) - a Harrian scientist and chief technician working for Commander Vermillion who helps Rox and other Star Knights by upgrading their suits, although she is quite antisocial and doesn't like interacting with other people, believing that machines are better than other people, but is quite friendly as well.

Introduced in Outbreak[]

  • Cadet Serena Oculus (voiced by Kimberly Brooks starting in 2010) - a focused yet good-willed young Aquamamorian who is a rookie cadet of the Star Knights, looking up heavily to Rox even if Rox claims that nobody should look up to her. She occasionally aids Rox in multiple missions, with her first one being to liberate Tyros-X from the Scourge Virus. which introduces her to how dangerous being a Star Knight can be.

Antagonists[]

Introduced in The Star Knight[]

  • Epsilon - a masked and emotionless yet brutal Star Knight who served as Rox's mentor as he oversees her actions in hunting after the eight criminals who escaped from the Iron Star. It is revealed after Rox arrests the eight criminals that he was the one responsible for the jailbreak in order to send drones to copy Rox's abilities to create an army of androids to "replace" the Star Knights. He battles Rox on his mobile factory at the end of the game and ends up dying by blowing himself up with his factory space station.
  • Crosshairs - a Harrian mercenary and bounty hunter who is one of the eight criminals that were busted out of the Iron Star as he is an expert sniper, wielding a high-tech rifle that can fire out electric blasts. He ends up fleeing to the planet of Lepos-XI where he gets cornered by Rox and fights her in a battle after she crosses through Lepos-XI.
  • Burnokov - a giant and rampaging Nucleod who had become a dangerous rampaging force of monster as he was one of the eight criminals busted out of the Iron Star, being able to burn anything he touches. He flees to the frozen planet of Cyclo where he begins burning everything, just wanting chaos and destruction.

Introduced in Outbreak[]

  • The Scourge - a nihilistic and violent Lovecraftian horror which has created the Scourge Virus and is the Scourge Virus itself as they believe that life is inherently evil and that assimilation would "free" the galaxy from life itself. It gets fought by Rox as she ends up slaying it, destroying the Scourge Virus and saving the galaxy again.
  • Lady Calypso - an Aquamamorian from the planet of Tyros-X who was infected by the Scourge Virus and transformed into a giant and horrifying version of herself, spreading the infection all over Tyros-X as she gets defeated by Rox and imprisoned in the Star Knights' very own lab just to prevent her from harming and infecting any more people.

Enemies[]

Introduced in The Star Knight[]

  • Beetoros - alien insects which are found all over the galaxy as they are rather easy to beat thanks to them just being a common pest.
  • Harrian Scavenger - hostile rogue Harrians who are found in Lepos-XI, as they work under Crosshairs and attack by using cybernetic blades.
  • TBD
  • Eclipse Knights - androids created by Epsilon as clones and "replacements" of the Star Knights as they are only found on the final planet and are very hard threats to fight, having the same abilities that Rox has.

Introduced in Outbreak[]

  • Scourge Parasites - squid-like bugs created by the Scourge Virus to spread across the galaxy and infect other aliens, as they can convert any living being they spot but can be easily killed if they do not reach a host in time.
  • Infected Knights - members of the Star Knights who have been infected by the Scourge virus and are mutated into mindless monsters. They are quite aggressive and agile, but extremely hard to defeat, being late game fights.

Gameplay[]

The games play as a platformer (the first three games are 2D as the fourth and beyond switch it to a 3D style) with a focus on clearing levels by making it to the end and beating the boss at the end. You have a jump, a melee attack, a dash and a wall jump to start as well as a parry that when you hit an enemy projectile, it flies back to the enemy. At the end of each level after beating the boss, you unlock a new ability that allows you to explore more levels to collect collectables which include extra lives, energy cores to increase your health and tanks that give you more bar to use special moves unlocked by beating bosses. The games' structure is there is a hub area and you can choose one of initially eight (some games expand the amount) levels to beat the boss with one last level being unlocked after clearing all eight.

Species[]

Introduced in The Star Knight[]

  • Harrians - rabbit-like alien creatures with four ears and exceptional jumping skills as they have a plethora of jobs throughout the galaxy.
  • Nucleods - giant lava-like alien creatures who are shockingly pacifistic as they refuse to harm others and usually work in construction jobs.
  • TBD
  • Beetoros - see above.

Introduced in Outbreak[]

  • Aquamamorians - aquatic aliens who have blue skin, gills and tentacles for legs as they primarily reside on Tyros-X as a nomadic loner race although some moved away from Tyros-X.

Planets/Levels[]

Introduced in The Star Knight[]

  • Lepos-XI - a somewhat desert-like planet which is one of the planets colonized by the Harrians as Crosshairs fled to Lepos-XI in order to hunt the residents there. The level form of Lepos-XI has devastating windstorms and sinking platforms which can make it a little hard to navigate.
  • Cyclo - an abandoned icey planet where there seems to be no real sentient life forms as Burnokov fled there in order to burn anything and everything there, with the level having a mix of ice physics mixed in with dangerous lava rivers and puddles.

Introduced in Outbreak[]

  • Tyros-X - a peaceful yet isolationist water-themed planet and the home-planet of the Aquamamorians, including Cadet Serena and Lady Calypso. The level form of Tyro-X mainly consists of underwater platforming with puzzles to solve and enemies to fight.
