The Runner is an American action-thriller-science-fiction video game, It is developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, being released for PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on May 19th, 2020.
Synopsis[]
Set in a massive city split into four separate districts in the year of 2039, a man known as Daniel Sun does various errands for the districts.

- Cornelius Deacon (voiced by Tony Todd) - Daniel's mentor and a former Runner who has just retired and moved into the Midas District to live a calmer life.
- Sigurd (voiced by Diedrich Bader) - a warrior in the Flashback District who has a belief on honor and wants to unite the warriors of Flashback in a peaceful way.

- Theodore Creek (voiced by Bryan Dechart) - the governor of Blyss who is one of the only people in the District to have full free will and control over the controlled residents of Blyss as he is morally corrupt.
- Mia Mason (voiced by Amelia Rose Blaire) - Theodore's personal handmaiden who is trained in numerous things to be the perfect assistant to him.
- Eddie Heller (voiced by Keith David) - an ultrasadistic gang leader in Purga known for his terrifying tactics and strength.

Gameplay[]
The game is a massive open world game as you play as Daniel and allows you to go through all four districts of Neo City. The game allows you to fire guns and use various weaponry on enemies. The game has a loose story that allows you to do various missions in any order you want. There are miniature stories placed in arcs as completing arcs unlock more arcs for you to play through as arcs usually consist of around ten-fifteen missions.

- Blyss - one of the four districts of Neo City where everyone are mindless helpers of society as only people in the position of government have full thoughts.
- The Crimson House - a house that is home to Theodore as it is considered to be the capital of Blyss.
- Purga - one of the four districts of Neo City where there are no police or rules as it is crowded with street gangs and chaos.
- Death Bar - a bar where there is always fighting 24/7 hours every day.
- Midas - one of the four districts of Neo City which is mainly consisted of the extremely wealthy as it is considered to be the "best" of the Four Districts yet is unavailable to most people.
- The Mansions of Wealth - A giant group of mansions made of gold where many people in Midas hang out in.
- Flashback - one of the four districts of Neo City where people have held too much onto the past now using everything from the past and having people behave like they are a few thousand years in the past.
