The Monkey Island Movie is an upcoming American fantasy comedy action-adventure film based on the Monkey Island video game series distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and produced by Lucasfilm Ltd.. It is directed and produced by George Lucas (the director of Star Wars) and co-produced by J. J. Abrams and Kathleen Kennedy. The film stars Chris Pine, Emily Blunt, Karl Urban, Warwick Davis, Hugh Jackman, Jack Black, David Tennant, Andy Serkis, and Octavia Spencer.
Premise
The film follows the misadventures of the hapless Guybrush Threepwood as he struggles to become the most notorious pirate in the Caribbean with help from a crew of inexperienced pirates and win the heart of governess Elaine Marley. He must, however, foil the plans of the dastardly zombie pirate LeChuck and stop him from conquering the Seven Seas.
