The Lion King: Revisited is an upcoming fan series inspired by Disney's The Lion King franchise. Directed by Jon Favreau, Beyoncé, Roger Allers, Rob Minkoff, Darrell Rooney, Bradley Raymond, Howy Parkins, and Barry Jenkins, written by Jeff Nathanson, Ford Riley, Tom Rogers, Flip Kobler, and Cindy Marcus, and produced by Walt Disney Pictures, it is an animated remake of 1994's The Lion King, its 1998 sequel, The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, its 2004 prequel/parallel, The Lion King 1½, and some episodes of the 2015 television series, The Lion Guard. The film stars an ensemble cast of actors reprising their voice roles from previous Lion King media, respectively, including Matthew Broderick and Jeremy Irons. The series was developed by 2019. Composers Hans Zimmer, Elton John, and lyricist Tim Rice, all of whom worked on the original 1994 animated film's soundtrack, returned to compose the score alongside Beau Black and Beyoncé, who assisted John in the reworking of the soundtrack. Christopher Willis, who scored The Lion Guard, also composed the film's musical score when Zimmer was not available at certain times.
