Plot Elements[]
- Link receives a telepathic S.O.S. message from Zelda.
- Link's uncle tried to rescue Zelda but is mortally wounded.
- Link saves Zelda in his uncle's place.
- After escaping, Link learns that Agahnim, a wizard who has usurped the throne and bewitched the king's soldiers, is planning to break a seal made hundreds of years ago by the Seven Sages to imprison the dark wizard Ganon in the Dark World, which was known as the Sacred Realm before Ganon, then known as Ganondorf, invaded it, obtained the Triforce, and used its power to engulf the realm in darkness.
- After finding three pendants, Link acquires the Master Sword, but Zelda gets kidnapped by Agahnim and flees to the Dark World.
- Link rescues the Seven Sages from the Dark World and defeats Agahnim, but the latter releases Ganon.
- Link defeats Ganon and uses the Triforce to restore Hyrule and the Sacred Realm.
