- Doctor Eliza Thornberry,: A vet who talks to all creatures thanks to a spell from Shaman Mnyambo. A feisty, altruistic, jolly, sarcastic, honorabhle, and wise soul. A capable martial artist, healer, gymnast, and tracker. She uses a blowgun and darts on a bandolier, a jian sword, a double-bladed spear, a boomerang, kunais, a kupri knife, bolas, and a lasso.
- Teko: A wild man raised by Gigantopithecines since infancy. Eliza's boyfriend and eventual husband. A heroic, just, jolly, sarcastic, honorable, and wise soul. He wields a machete, a spear, a tomahawk, a bow and arrows, and a blowgun and darts on a bandolier.
- Professor Samuel Garrett Smith: A professor of palaeontology, archaeology, mythology, astronomy, physics, and philosphophy from London. He'd been a boy during World-War 2.
- Professor Jack Peok Smythe: A professor of palaeontology, archaeology, cartography, philosophy, code-breaking, and mythology from Salisbury who'd been stranded on Bermigia for ten years. He'd been a boy during the Cold War.
- Edward Pennic: Professor Smith's butler. A former captain from the American Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
- Sergeant-Major Buric: A veteran from World-Wars 1 and 2 who owns a Mark 4 tank and suffers from dementia which causes him to relive the past.

A talented martial artist, tactician, pilot, marksman, singer, and volleyball player. He wields an AK-47 rifle with a bayonet, a cane-sword, a sickle, a spear, a boomerang, a crossbow, and bolas.
- Rawks: Vocko's raven-bud. A wise, noble, just, sarcastic, jolly. and honorable soul.
- Medwecko: A bonobo who was among the Soviet's space-cadets in the Cold War before he crashed on Bermiogedo. Gruff and sarcastic but noble, jolly, just, and clever.
- Brogo: A brash and hot-headed but well-meaning Brontotherium
- Erocko: Brogo's dopey and gruff but well-meaning Entelodon-bud.
- Brigadier-General Orek: An African-American soldier from the US Army and leader to the Sky-Demons, a helicopter-squadron, as well as veteran from the Iraq War. A deranged megalomaniac who comes up with suicidal plans to do things.
- Captain Ben Richards: A Canadian who acts as Orek's second-in-command. A noble, just, honorable, jolly, sarcastic, and wise man who eventually sees Orek's real colours and vows to stop his suicidal plans from slaughtering many innocent beings.
- Lieutenant Jenny Smeo: A Chinese-American who acts as Orek's third-in-command and field-medic to the Sky-Demons.
- Sergeant Plong: A Russian-American who acts as Orek's fourth-in-command.

- The scene where Tommy proudly brandishes his sword before an unimpressed Staff-Sergeant Caok lazily shoots him down is reminiscent of the famous duel between between Indiana Jones and the Cairo swordsman in Raiders of the Lost Ark.
- The desert showdown is a big ol' homage to old Spaghetti Westerns, right down to the music cues, genre conventions, and, of course, the tumbleweed.
- Helga complains about being on rat patrol. A nod to The Rat Patrol.
- The teamup with Vecko and Medweko is highly reminiscent of the depiction of cooperative Soviet operatives in American fiction during the Cold War. The accent, the diplomatic politeness, it's all stereotypical of an 80s spy movie or G.I.Joe episode where the American heroes must work with Soviet agents for the greater good of the world.
- Stinky refers to "trouble with a capital B", a paraphrased line from The Music Man.
- Tommy's request of "take me to your leader" is a stereotypical phrase used in early sci-fi movies involving aliens arriving to Earth from another world.
- The scene when Eliza objects to Orek's plan and compares him to Sterokeo to which Orek replies he'd win was a nod to a scene from Thor: The Dark World.

- The king of the Bermigian people was revealed to'd worn a rainbow coat.... a nod to Joseph's Coat of Many Colours.
- Shaman Mnyambo parts the river.... a nod to Moses, Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha.
- Dil taking down Sergeant Cruncher with a sling and rock is a nod to David and Goliath.
- Arnold cutting a mango in half is a nod to King Soloman.
- Eliza's moment in the lion-pit is a nod to Daniel, a well-known Bible character who braved a lion pit and was saved for selfless loyalty to God.
- Susie calls Vecko a good Samaritan..... a nod to The Good Samaritan, a well-known Bible story when a Samaritan helps a Jerusalemian although their people were enemies.
- Kimi comments on how Orek would suffer as a certain naughty servant did for acting on revenge. A nod to The Unforgiving Servant, a Bible story where a servant has a debt forgiven by a king but refuses to do so for a fellow servant, and gets locked up in prison by the king for such an action of revenge.
- The scene when Tezo is put on a cross is a reference to Jesus being put on a cross by Romans and dying on it before his resurrection.

- Dil compares the ship the Neo-Nazis to a fusion between the Death-Star and General Grievous's Invisible Hand.
- The electro-staffs used by some Neo-Nazis were similar to the ones used by General Grievous's Magna-Guards on Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith as well as the Heavy Troopers on Star Wars: Force Unleashed.
- The arena looks similar to the Geonosian one on Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.
- Orek furiously accuses the group of turning his troops on him to which Vecko replies 'You did so yourself' and reveals how Orek becomes which the American Army swore to destroy... leading to Orek accusing him of lying with Soviet-propaganda and ranting on about how his ways would bring order.... to which Tommy says the just way is democracy. Homage to a well-known scene from Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
- The scenes when Chuckie messes up with the talk on coms with Caok, Tommy flies a Neo-Nazi's fighter jet, when Captain Quopzo pursues him and comments on 'The spirit is strong in this one', when Mnyambo gives advice to Tommy through the mind, when Verko yodels as he gives cover fire, and when Tommy shoots down the flagship is a homage to Star Wars: A New Hope.
