PLOT

Keith Hatsune is an up and coming rapper, despite speaking in boops and bops, who has dropped out of University due to his choice of what to do with his life. However, he sees a beautiful young woman, Cherry, crying in the corner. She tells him she left her boyfriend, who was the 5th guy she's dated. Keith cheers her up by showing his fingerboard tricks, and the two become friends, with Keith developing a crush on her.

Keith finally gained the courage to ask her out, to which she says yes, and the two head out on a date in the mall, and they have fun. However, Cherry turns down Keith's requests to go on another date, not because she dislikes him, but because of her father, an EX-rockstar named Daddy Dearest. Keith is ecstatic, wanting his autograph. However, Mr. Dearest rejects him when they meet, extremely jealous of him and believing him to be a threat to Cherry mentally, challenging Keith to a rap battle. and losing. Mr. Dearest then gets angry and kicks him out of the theater due to being humiliated, and gets into a one-sided argument with Cherry, because she calls him out for being an asshole and for not considering who Keith is, before she storms off to meet him. Mr. Dearest then calls a trio of contract killers, Pico, Nene and Darnell, paying them to kill Keith, believing Cherry's statements, as he calls it, 'teenagers'.

The next night, Cherry starts to wonder if she feels the same about Keith, only to be interrupted by Pico, who whips out his guns, only to recognize Keith, and spare him. He reveals they once dated, and the trio of friends just joke around and have fun, with Keith and Pico reconnecting, and Keith tells Pico his crush on Cherry, who encourages her to take his chance.

As Keith tries to ask Cherry if they could be together, her mother, Mommy Mearest approaches him on the limo, challenging him to a rap battle to 'see if he's good enough'. Keith does win, and Ms. Mearest warns him about how Mr. Dearest was the one who hired Pico because she overheard him on the phone. Keith is confused over her purple skin, but Cherry unveils her true form as a demon, but Keith accepts her for who she is. Cherry admits to him she does love him, but she can't be with him because of her father. At the same time, Pico battles with Darnell, soon reconciling with him and Nene once the battle is over.

From the shadows, a Lemon monster watches Cherry, itching to eat her, as Keith and Cherry take care of two kids, Skid and Pump, only to find a humanoid bomb named Whitty in the alleyway. Whitty recognizes Cherry as Mr. Dearest's daughter, and explains Mr. Dearest is the reason he's hiding away, so he doesn't get contained. Keith asks if he can help, which annoys the fuck out of Whitty, making him go BALLISTIC, and then they rap battle. Eventually, Whitty calm down, and on account of Skid and Pump, agrees to be chill with them, and Keith and Lucy promise to fit him in the city. Later, Kapi, an old friend of Keith's, tries to ask Cherry out, but Keith beats him in a rap battle, but they remain friends.

Mr. Dearest tries and fails to separate his daughter and Keith, a full montage ensues of his failed attempts, in cartoonish glory. Lemon monstor, however, strikes a deal with Dearest, promising to let Cherry live if Monster helps him separate the duo. Noticing Darnell has a crush on Cherry since they, Keith, Pico and Nene hang out, Monster encourages him to make a move on her. Monster meets Keith, showing Darnell's confession, making Keith believe Cherry lied to him, causing him depression, and Monster keeps him word to Mr. Dearest. However, Cherry turns down Darnell, only seeing him as a friend, to which Darnell accepts, and Cherry sees a sad Keith walk off, and she runs toward him, only for her parents to pick her up when she fails to catch up. Both feel bad for her as she sobs, despite her dad's pleasure in his success, but when Cherry blows up in his face and calls him out for being selfish while explaining how Keith was there for her all that time, storming off to find Keith, to which makes Mr. Dearest rethink his choices, while Ms. Mearest comforts him before setting to help Cherry.

Cherry, her friends and her mother attempt a search party to look for Keith, only to find him singing to himself, and Darnell is able to clear the misunderstanding. Cherry and Keith meet up again, Cherry confirms she really does love Keith, and Keith speaks normal English for the first time in forever, confirming he used to beep because he doesn't socialize, and promises he'll speak English instead. Cherry finally allows Keith to be her boyfriend, and they kiss, only for Monster to emerge from the shadows, now knowing there is no separation, goes back on the deal. Keith battles Monster in song form and cue cartoony antics. Mr. Dearest, upon realizing the error of his ways, finds Monster cockily blurting out going back on the deal, and when Cherry attacks him with her powers in an attempt to protect Keith, he attacks, but Keith takes the blow. Mr. Dearest shows up, and leaves Monster defeated, using his demon powers to send him to hell. Mr. Dearest apologizes to Keith and learns he can speak English, reconciles with Cherry, allowing him and Cherry to date. Keith and Cherry go on they're first real date, and then have sex. Meanwhile, Whitty becomes accepted into the city, allowing him to live a normal life.

In a Post-credits scene, Monster is singing a melody to his sister on the phone, and other people in the hell, and they enjoy it. However, monster sees an invisible man with a goat skull for a head. He smirks, finding a new way for revenge. In another Post-credits scene, Nene tries to get into Pico's pants, only for him to friend zone her.
