The Feral Tales is an American media franchise created by Phil Nibbelink and Jerry Rees, developed by Steven Spielberg of Amblin Entertainment, and distributed by Universal Pictures. The film was originally unrated in the United States, but for its DVD release, was later re-rated PG by the MPAA for parental guidance suggested such as animal rights. The film is the new family-oriented Amblin Entertainment animated film, and the first preteen animated feature by the studio. A television series adaptation was also released that ran from September 11, 1993 to December 6, 1997, aired on Fox (season 1 - 2) and The WB (season 3 - 5). It is a satirical depiction of American life, epitomized by the anthropomorphic animals called the Pet Crews, which consists of Danny the dog, Max the cat, Kyle the bird, Hector the lizard, and Gill the toadfish. Set in the fictional town of San Francisco, in an unspecified location in the United States, it caricatures society, Western culture, television and the human condition.

Synopsis[]

The film takes place in a world where anthropomorphic animals are capable of speech, but cannot be understood by humans until the TV adaptation of the same name. A mutt (a mix of a dog) named Danny, who escapes from Larry’s house as a puppy in San Francisco after his father is killed. In the process of telling the story, the film highlights the cruelty of performing vivisection and animal research for its own sake. He lost in San Francisco finding his young owner, Bobby Mulgrew. He took him to the Mulgrew family house living with the Mulgrew family, and brought him a kitten as his best friend, Mike. Two years later, Danny and Mike both grew up fast, then Bobby and his family brought new pets as Danny’s new friends. The next day, the Mulgrew family leaves these pets alone and moves to Los Angeles. It centers on a group of pets in San Francisco who all take part in a therapy group, led by Danny whose owner is a therapist and thus has rubbed off on him. Told from the perspective of the animals, each one having various issues that usually stem from their owners, the show details the various adventures they go on to deal with their problems.
