The Enigma is one of the first comics published by Untouchable Comics and follows the titular Enigma, a hyper-intelligent masked vigilante whose identity is completely unknown to everyone as he defends Hazel City from menaces ranging from the mundane to far more surreal and dangerous threats.

- The Enigma - a mysterious masked vigilante who wears all black including a metallic mask that conceals his face as well as a fedora as he is hyper-intelligent as well as a master in the martial arts of Jeet Kun Do, Judo and MMA fighting as he truly cares about the safety of Hazel City, operating through the shadows. He also has quite a few gadgets as well as a motorcycle as almost everyone in Hazel City wonders one thing: who is the Enigma. It is revealed that not even the Enigma knows who he used to be due to his devotion to fighting crime and injustice having consumed most of his life.

- Danica "Dani" Tyson - a brash and aggressive rookie detective working for Hazel City's Police Department who often works both under her superior's orders and off the books, as she occasionally encounters the Enigma, not truly knowing that if the Enigma is good or bad but is often forced to work with him against the rising stranger threats of Hazel City.
- Chief Patrick Brennan - the quite tired yet law obsessed chief of Hazel City's Police Department who isn't a massive fan of masked vigilantes as he sends Dani to investigate and maybe take down the Enigma, as he believes unchecked, the Enigma can cause the entire city to crumble as he only wants things done by the word of the law, sometimes hating how Dani is willing to go off the books to solve a case.
- Emilia Staples - an extremely cocky and somewhat liquor loving journalist and photographer who works for the Hazel City Gazette as she is somewhat obsessed with uncovering who the Enigma is, deciding to use her investigative journalist skills to try to figure out who the Enigma is, being quite horrified at the fact that Enigma has no trace or anything that can link to an identity. She also is extremely skilled at photography, at the point that she doesn't need a photographer to follow her around.
- Mr. Rogers - an extremely goofy and silly old man who quite loves fishing although it seems that he knows a lot more about the Enigma and his thought process than he lets on. It is revealed that he was once the Enigma of the golden age who after training the current Enigma, got facial surgery and retired, taking the name of Mr. Rogers off of the TV show of the same name and resides in Hazel City to keep an eye out on the current Enigma.
- Mayor Duncan Rosenblatt - the flamboyant yet somewhat caring mayor of Hazel City who is aware how it is surrounded by criminals and madmen as he attempts to find ways to clean the city's image, although this often causes him to deal with Enigma, who Duncan claims is another one of those criminals, but sometimes has to work with him.
- Laura Anne Bentley - Duncan's extremely emotionless personal assistant and secretary who often updates him about the events of Hazel City, not really caring about the Enigma, just wanting to make sure that Duncan's ego is stroked, knowing that if she isn't making him satisfied with the city, her job is at risk.
- Josh Evans/The Raven - a young pickpocket who was orphaned thanks to a dangerous gang known as the Violet Dragons as he decides to become a vigilante as he is initially extremely violent, with him soon encountering the Enigma who lets him know that violence is a path nobody can come back from as he becomes somewhat of an ally to the Enigma.
- Ryan Bell/Rocket - a goofy and silly race car driver who after getting in a career ending accident, gets visited by scientists and is outfitted with a suit that allows him to run faster than a rocket as he wants to use it to protect people, becoming a defender of Hazel City's smaller Shining Apple district, befriending and often working with Enigma.
- Drake Shoreson - Ryan's somewhat more cynical and realistic but truly caring manager and boyfriend who is the one that came in touch with the scientists to save his boyfriend's life as he quite cares for the safety of his boyfriend, sometimes being overprotective of him and wants to make sure that he isn't getting in trouble.
- Don Freeman - the insane and money loving owner of the Hazel City Gazette who often tries to do outlandish headlines as he rarely shows up in the series and is primarily portrayed as a comedic figure, only really caring about money and fame, sometimes making some outlandish headlines about the Enigma.
Antagonists[]
- Johnny De La Roca/The Planner - a flamboyant yet intelligent criminal for hire who is hired to create plans for criminals and mob bosses to act out as he learns of Enigma and becomes fascinated by him, attempting to create the perfect plan that not even the Enigma could stop, rarely physically getting involved in his plans. Enigma soon learns of his existence and attempts to find a way to stop his plans and machinations.
- Officer Han O'Neil - a corrupt cop who initially wanted to get the Enigma and Det. Danica Tyson dead so he can continue being corrupt without notice as after his working with the Planner failed miserably, he is forced into working for him as a contact, being the only of the corrupt cops to not get expelled from the police force. Later on in the first volume, he was sent to cause a distraction for the Enigma as he ends up shooting himself in the head, wanting to get out of the Planner's debt.
- Roland Sullivan/Red Spot - a ruthless yet quite calm mob boss with a mysterious red spot around his left eye which allows him to hypnotize anyone who looks at it as he learns of Enigma, who is immune to his hypnotic powers thanks to his visor as he becomes obsessed with taking down Enigma, seeing him as the biggest threat to his empire. Most of his henchmen are criminals and thugs taken control thanks to his eye, never truly keeping a henchman.
- Phillip Greer/Leopard - a cocky assassin for hire who claims to have killed dozens of people as he initially arrived to take a bounty on the Enigma as he is a master of both speed and knives, which caused him to earn his nickname of the Leopard. After initially failing to kill the Enigma, he becomes a recurring threat to him, often being hired to kill numerous faces.
- Winona Jekyll/Ms. Hyde - a young yet severally insane mob boss who claims to be the descendant of the real Dr. Jekyll as she forced chemists to create a chemical that will awaken "the Hyde" inside of her, with her transformation into Hyde being quite unpredictable. As Jekyll she is quite bubbly and flirtatious but severally unhinged while as Hyde, she is extremely aggressive and violent, not taking no as an answer. This causes her henchmen and goons to be terrified of both sides of her as soon both sides learn of Enigma, with Jekyll falling madly in love with him, being obsessive over him, while Hyde despises him and wants him dead. Hyde is also extremely strong, being capable of throwing a car with her own fists.
- Nigel Porter/The Surgeon - a terrifying and deranged young man who claims to be a surgeon as he happens to be a serial killer and mad scientist, turning his patients into horrific and terrifying monsters that lost all signs of humanity as he learns of the Enigma, and becomes somewhat obsessed with experimenting on him, seeing everything as a big science experiment. He is the most terrifying threat that the Enigma has faced, almost always doing something horrific and monstrous.
- Ashton Meyers/The Match - a loud mouthed and aggressive masked anarchist who believes that society has been corrupt thanks to politicians and their power over people as he often schemes to destroy and rebuild the government with a focus on freedom. He soon learns of the Enigma and becomes shocked when he learns Enigma doesn't approve of his methods, as he often tries to sway Enigma to his side, which always fails in some shape or form.
- Katrina Tickman/Clockmaker - a mentally insane clockmaker who is quite obsessed with time as she soon begins to craft dangerous gimmicky clocks and even clockwork robots and becomes a criminal mastermind as she can't spend a single second without knowing what the time is, often clashing against Enigma who she isn't the biggest fan of.
- Gerald Greene/Brute - a deranged former military soldier who volunteered for a government experiment to create more powerful soldiers known as Project Titan, being injected with a serum that horrifically mutates him, giving him a horrifically long tongue as well as brute strength and razor-sharp claws as he now wanders around Hazel City, on a single-minded quest for destruction, often fighting the Enigma.
- Frankie Gatto/Frost - a formerly incompetent mob enforcer who during a fight with Enigma, ends up bonding with a strange serum that turns his entire body into ice and makes him capable of firing out blasts of ice as he becomes a supervillain for hire, being hired by many threats to commit crimes.
- Tiamat - a terrifying gang leader who is covered in dragon tattoos as he leads the Violet Dragons and is personally responsible for the death of Josh's parents as he wants power over all of Hazel City, becoming quite a dangerous threat to the Enigma and now the Raven, wanting both of them out of his path.
- Shining Armor - a vengeful spirit from medieval England who is trapped inside of a suit of armor as he reawakens in Hazel City in the modern day, targeting the rich and powerful due to rich and powerful nobles in his time being responsible for his vengeful nature, often clashing against Enigma.
- Annabeth Brady/Sitcom Mistress - a mentally insane former sitcom star whose sitcom was cancelled due to her growing old as realizing nobody cares for her unless she is in that sitcom, she begins developing technology with one purpose: to bring back her career at all costs, often clashing with Enigma during her sitcom themed schemes.
- Harvey Whitmore/Harlequin - an egotistical classically trained theatrical actor who leads a troupe of criminals and thieves all based on characters from Commedia dell'arte as he wants to become the richest criminal around, often using strange high-tech weapons while finding Enigma to be quite a troublemaker for his schemes.
- Cyrus Blaire/Jawbreaker - a down on his luck street fighter who lost his arms in a tragic accident as he was given mechanical arms by a mob boss and is forced to work as a mob enforcer to pay off his debts. At the end of his debut, he ends up killing the mob boss he works under but becomes a gun for hire, often working for other villains, while wanting to live a somewhat normal life, which he deems impossible to do now.
- Daniel "Dan" Grandon/Dan Danger - a danger-loving and quite mentally insane mercenary for hire who wears a high-tech suit that allows him to climb up walls and survive any fall as well as numerous other gadgets as he soon wants to deal with the most dangerous thing he can possibly do, fight and defeat the Enigma.
- Patrick Mount/King Croc - an egotistical hunter and TV show host who calls himself "King Croc" due to him having conquered countless crocodiles and wild beasts as he is slowly going insane after the ratings of his show began to plumet as he gains an extremely terrifying idea, to release animals into the city in order for a more dangerous and thrilling hunt, as his schemes to reclaim his popularity end up causing him to become a threat to the Enigma, who doesn't approve of his obsession with popularity.

- Shadows of the Enigma - Somewhat aggressive rookie cop Danica Tyson gets her first case, to investigate the rather infamous mob boss Roland Sullivan, or more famously, the Red Spot as soon she learns the existence of Enigma and witnesses his first battle with a full fledge supervillain.
- All According To Plan - A gang of thieves have been playing shockingly smart and intelligently as the Enigma begins to suspect that these thieves aren't making these plans himself as he conducts an investigation, learning of the existence of a "mercenary" known as the Planner as Enigma plans on finding a way to take him down.
- Tick Tock - Numerous people's houses are suddenly and mysteriously blown up as the HCPD are convinced that there is a connection between the victims. Soon Enigma involves himself in the mystery and begins to learn that the targets are unconnected and instead all of them bought watches and clocks at a shop owned by Katrina Tickman as he investigates and learns that Tickman is insane and is now calling herself the Clockmaker as Enigma has to stop the Clockmaker and her schemes.
- Playing With Cats - While investigating the mob boss known as Ms. Hyde, Enigma learns that Hyde hired a skilled assassin known as Leopard to hunt after and kill him as the Enigma has to face this deadly assassin while learning what makes him tick.
- Monstrous - The Enigma deals with his most monstrous threat yet when a gigantic strange fleshy monster begins mindlessly attacking innocents at Hazel City. Enigma soon gets horrified when he learns this flesh monster is made from the body parts of numerous kidnapped and killed homeless people as he heads to find who created this monster, learning of the terrifying Surgeon as he heads to stop this Surgeon before he makes more monsters.
- A Knight Unlike Any Other - The Enigma faces his first supernatural threat when there have been reports of a living suit of armor wandering around Hazel City as he heads to stop this suit of armor, quickly learning of the suit being possessed and its hatred towards the rich, as he has to find some way to beat him.
- Of Men and Machines - A new supervillain known as Jawbreaker has been robbing banks all over Hazel City as the Enigma investigates while beginning to piece together what Jawbreaker's past was and what happened to him that caused him to be somewhat mechanical in nature.
- For Today's Episode... - The Enigma works to solve the mystery behind the disappearances of famed actors, eventually suspecting it has to do with disgraced sitcom Annabeth Brady. His suspicions are proven correct when Brady, now known as the Sitcom Mistress, is revealed to have kidnapped the missing actors and used hypnotism to make them believe that they were the characters they once played on Growing Pains as Enigma has to free these former stars from Brady's wrath.
- Boom! - An anarchist known as the Match has been publicly targeting government buildings with the help of high-tech bombs while ranting about society and how everyone deserves a new chance without the shackles of the government. This causes the Enigma to investigate and soon causes him to learn that the Match wants Enigma to join him.
- The Comedy of the Profession - An egotistical new masked criminal known as the Harlequin leads a team of actors based on the Comedy of the Profession in robbing banks as the Enigma has to fight these mysterious flamboyant criminals before they steal everything in Hazel City.
- Blast Off! - Cocky race car driver Ryan Bell has got in an accident and has been given a suit to allow him to walk again as he decides to try and become a superhero like Enigma, working with him to investigate a returning Red Spot, who is starting a drug smuggling campaign that may sabotage the city.
- Cold - During a fight against mob enforcers, the Enigma ends up turning one of them into someone made out of ice as he is hired by the powerful mob boss Ms. Hyde to use his powers to kidnap the Enigma and bring him to her as the Enigma has to face this superpowered mob enforcer and Ms. Hyde as well.
- I, Monster - A former military soldier known as the Brute has been wandering around Hazel City, on a pure mindless rampage as Enigma investigates and has to find some way to put an end to Brute's destructive and violent rampage before innocents get hurt.
- The Blue Line - A group of corrupt cops make a deal with the Planner to permanently wipe both Det. Tyson and Enigma out of Hazel City as the two of them are forced to work together before these corrupt cops succeed thanks to the Planner's machinations.
- Animals in the City - Former television host, Patrick "Croc King" Mount releases a bunch of wild animals into Hazel City in order for him to film himself hunting them as the Enigma has to find and stop Croc King before he puts more in danger.

- Searching For Danger - Danger-loving and mentally insane mercenary for hire Dan Danger is hired by the Red Spot to permanently take care of the Enigma as he decides to do so by putting the life of Mayor Rosenblatt in danger, forcing Enigma to survive through Dan Danger's stunts in order to save the mayor from his dangerous fate.
- Quoth the Raven - Enigma learns of a violent new vigilante known as the Raven who has been targeting members of the gang known as the Violet Dragons as he investigates, soon learning what exactly the Raven is as he decides to try and convince the Raven that the path of violence isn't a path he needs to take.

- Bring Me the Head of the Enigma! - The Red Spot, growing even more tired of the Enigma, decides to place a five-million-dollar bounty on the head of the Enigma as the Enigma has to face against numerous assassins and villains while attempting to locate the Red Spot and bring him back to prison.

- Who is the Enigma? - A traveling journalist from the Western Isle arrives to Hazel City to interview Dani Tyson, Patrick Brennan, Emilia Staples and Mayor Rosenblatt to see what they think the Enigma is and how he became the Enigma.

Main[]
- The Enigma - a vigilante operating in Hazel City, fighting crime with a series of martial arts and gadgets, his true identity unknown to anyone, including himself. The series further expands his ideology and thought process, which is heavily inspired by the teachings of Buddhism and philosopher Laozi, the main theme of the series being Enigma's views on identity and how it should be shed in favor of a more important cause. In the second half of the comic, he is heavily injured and begins training a protege to temporarily replace him.
- James Rosenblatt/The Enigma II - the deuteragonist of the series, James is Enigma's protege introduced near the second half of the comic. He is the son of Hazel City's mayor and, following Enigma's body being heavily injured, he is trained as the second Enigma, needing to learn how to shed his own identity. Unlike the much more refined Enigma, James has not yet embraced this ideology and often gives into rage and pride, which he is scolded by Enigma for.

- Isaac Bates/The Architect - the main antagonist of the series, Architect is a descendant of the Bates family, the founders of Hazel City who were supposedly replaced in history by the Rosenblatts. He is a criminal genius who, in contrast to Enigma, is obsessed with his own identity and hopes to reclaim the fame that he believes was stolen from him by the Rosenblatt family, hoping to do so whether he becomes famous or infamous. He has a steampunk aesthetic and fights with lasers from his fingers, buzzsaws built into mechanical gauntlets, and a legion of robotic animals.
