Synopsis of Episode[]

The episode begins with a mother Progojira burrowing into the sand near the surface of the ocean, then laying a large clutch of gelatinous eggs within her nest. After burying her eggs, she is quickly snatched from the water and eaten by Methuselah. It is revealed that more of Methuselah's species had evolved after himself, making his species the dominant and apex superspecies of the planet during the Late Devonian. Along with the rise of arachnids came a new superspecies: Titanus Scylla. While Methuselah's species remained the dominant superspecies of the Late Devonian, his species and the Titanus Scylla species were in constant competition for food and the nuclear energy that lingered in high levels within the Earth at the time. There is an elongated scene showing a battle between two groups of Titanus Methuselah and Titanus Scylla. The victors are never shown because the episode switches its focus back to the nest of Progojira after a timeskip of ten months. The newborn Progojira fry, which closely resemble tadpoles, all swarm together in the ocean, where they must survive in a harsh aquatic ecosystem and metamorphosize and grow as they go. While many of the swarm becomes food to an Icthyostega, which is then eaten by a Dunkleosteus, the remainder of the swarm eventually fully metamorphosize into adults, being over 50 feet in length. The episode ends with a pack of adult Progojira gathering on the shore, now ready to evolve into Titanus Gojira.
