The Critic is an American animated sitcom created by Al Jean and Mike Reiss, who were writers for the third and fourth seasons of The Simpsons. The series was around during 1994 and 1995 and was cancelled after its second season, to which will be revived for the Fox Broadcasting Company. The revival follows the events of the second season and Jay Sherman has married his girlfriend Alice Tompkins.

The series will have Jon Lovitz, Park OverallMaurice LaMarche, Nick Jameson, Nancy Cartwright, Gerrit Graham, and Judith Ivey reprising their roles from the original run; whist Cartwright voices Marty Sherman and Tress MacNeille voices both Doris and Penny Tompkins due to the deaths of Christine Cavanaugh in 2014, Doris Grau in 1995, and Russi Taylor in 2019. Charles Napier's character Duke Phillips is dead prior to the events of the first run in favor of Napier's death in 2011.

The revival will be broadcast on Fox's Animation Domination block, alongside The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers, and Bless the Harts. The revival will be produced by Gracie Films and Columbia Television, with Fox Television Animation co-producing, and syndicated by Columbia Television Distribution.
