The Batman Must Die is an American action-thriller fanfic series based on Batman by DC Comics and created by Cristina Margrove aka DCFanGirl25, being published since May 17th, 2018.

Synopsis

Barbara Gordon loses her memory as she only remembers one thing, the Batman. As a result, she goes on a quest to kill the Batman believing he caused her amnesia.

Characters

Main

• Barbara Gordon/Alicia Strong - the former sidekick of Batman who lost her memory after she faced Joker with Batman as she strongly believes Batman did this and heads to kill him, even if her memory doesn't come back to normal.

Supporting

• Roman Sionis/The Black Mask - a mysterious crime boss who used to be friends with Bruce and takes advantage of Barbara's amnesia to lure her into a world of crime and use his hatred for Batman to influence her in achieving to kill Batman and eventually turn Gotham into a city of chaos.
• James Gordon Jr. - Barbara's brother who gains a romantic interest on "Alicia" and is willing to join efforts with Black Mask in order to gain control over some of his mob, being unaware that she's actually her sister.
• Dick Grayson/Nightwing - Barbara's longtime partner and love interest who found out about her amnesia and heads to try to make her to recover from it before she achieves to kill the Batman, despite her wanting to have nothing to do with him due to not remembering him.
• Stephanie Brown/Batgirl - the daughter of the infamous Cluemaster and Barbara's protégée who currently helps Nightwing to keep Gotham safe during Batman's absence as she joins him in their quest to regain her memory and get her away from Black Mask's influence.
• Alfred Stryker - a corrupt businessman who is partners with Sionis and is intrigued by "Alicia" and plans to have TBD.
• Com. James Gordon - Barbara's father who heads the GCPD and is Batman's closest ally as he becomes intrigued about "Alicia" and her goals as he tries find out her backstory and arrest her before she manages to kill the Batman without knowing she is his own daughter.
• Bruce Wayne/Batman - the head of Wayne Enterprises who doubles as a caped crusader and made Nightwing and Barbara into what they are today as he's currently out of Gotham City due to joining the Justice League in a fight against Darkseid while Barbara hunts for him due to her amnesiac situation, being only mentioned or appearing in flashbacks during most of the story.

Antagonists

• Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin - a rival mob boss to Roman who is out to bring "Alicia" into his side and wants to eliminate all competition.
• Harvey Dent/Two-Face - a deranged criminal who was once a successful District Attorney as he now heads to kill criminals and plans to rid of all crime even if he becomes what he wants to destroy.

Chapters

1. Drift Away - Barbara Gordon gains amnesia and winds up on the shores of Gotham City. As a result, she heads to change herself physically before she heads to figure out what caused her memories to disappear.
2. The Batman - Now going by Alicia, Barbara learns TBD.

Trivia

• Chapters are published bimonthly as the writer plans to finish it after reaching Chapter 75, yet will continue if they get inspiration.
• Unlike the comics, Barbara isn't paraplegic since the events of The Killing Joke never happened.
• Barbara's alias is an allusion to actress Alicia Silverstone (who played a version of her in Batman and Robin) and Canadian voice actress Tara Strong (who is usually her most regular voice on television and video games).
• These are the canonical designs of the characters:
