Originally Blue Sky Studios optioned to make a movie based on the book in 2008, under the title of "Anubis". It was scheduled to be released on March 23, 2018 by 20th Century Fox, but in june of 2017, the film was removed from its schedule and was shelved for a long time due to "creative differences".
