Tenkaichi (テンカイチ : 日本最強武芸者決定戦, Tenkaichi : Nihon Saikyo Bugeisha Ketteisen) is a Japanese anime series based on the manga of the same name by Yosuke Nakamura and Kyotaro Azuma. This series tells the story of a fighting tournament between samurai created by Nobunaga Oda to determine his successor as the new ruler of Japan.
Synopsis[]
This is not the history as we know it. Ten years have passed since Nobunaga Oda unified Japan. It is now 1600. Realizing that he is dying, in trying to determine his successor as the new ruler, Nobunaga holds a fighting tournament between samurai representing various warlords. The warlords eventually sent their strongest samurai to participate in the tournament known as Tenkaichi (テンカイチ, Tenkaichi ) and claim the country for themselves.
