Tech (stylized as T.E.C.H) is a 2009 animated science fiction fantasy adventure film directed by Garrett Fredrickson and produced by Shojiro Abe and Joe Roth. The film is set in 2055 and is about a normal high school junior student who becomes stuck in a war between an uprising cybertech organization and humankind, and also allies with an orphaned teenage girl fighting for the humankind side along with a few other unlikely rebels.

The film was animated by J.C. Staff while co-produced by Roth Films, LIVE Entertainment and Walt Disney Pictures and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Tech was released to theaters on May 15, 2009 where it received positive reviews from critics and grossed $256 million against a budget of $43 million.

Theatrical[]

Tech had it's theatrical premiere at Disney's El Capitan Theatre on May 10, 2009, and was released to theaters on May 15, 2009. It was the first 2D animated film to be played in Disney Digital 3-D, and the only one of such until The Lion King in 2011.

Home media[]

Tech was released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 13, 2009 in two different sets, a single disc edition containing the widescreen edition of the film and the only bonus feature being the movie's trailer and a Deluxe Edition that also contains deleted scenes among other bonus features. The Blu-Ray release contains the same bonus features as the Deluxe Edition along with a DVD copy and a Digital Copy in the Blu-Ray format.

Previously the movie was available for streaming on Netflix from 2015 to 2018 and in 2019 was made available for streaming on Disney+.
