The inspiration of the original concept came from the Disney/Fox merger. This new concept was inspired by Paramount Global's co-ownership of Miramax.
Paramount Global (known as ViacomCBS at the time) has succeeded Viacom and CBS Corporation since 2019, and Sony Pictures Entertainment has been the owner of Columbia Pictures and TriStar since 1989. But what if Paramount Global co-owned Columbia and TriStar with Sony Pictures; similar to how it now co-owns Miramax with BeIN Media Group?
Assets[]
Film[]
- Columbia Pictures
- TriStar
Television[]
- CPT Holdings, Inc.
- TriStar Television
Changes[]
- If Paramount Global co-owned Columbia and TriStar:
- Columbia and TriStar would be able to distribute their own films again like they did back in their heydays; way before Sony Pictures Releasing took over distribution in 1995.
- Their on-screen opening and closing logos would be bylineless.
- Their print logos would be updated.
- The logos would be inverted and would lose the window brackets.
- TriStar Pictures would be shortened to simply "TriStar".
- Columbia and TriStar's movies would be streamed on Paramount+.
- The companies would probably have their own separate websites like 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures.
- If Paramount Global co-owned Columbia, it would have its own spun-off divisions:
- Columbia Feature Animation will be founded and Sony Pictures Animation would become its primary unit.
- Columbia Television will be created for to have its own shows based on Columbia's franchises, and all its existing shows based said franchises will be transferred as well.
- Columbia Home Entertainment will be created for handling films distributed by Columbia and TriStar.
