TDN, short for The Dressy Network, is an American pay-television channel and the flagship property of the Vantablack Media Group. The channel began as the first superstation, beating TBS by a year.
History[]
Pre-launch[]
Plans for Vanta Network's launch date back to 1967, Some former employees say that it was originally planned to launch as an NBC station, and then later in development as an independent Metromedia station. Both plans were scrapped in favor of being the first national superstation. On July 15, 1973, it was sold to WGN Continental Broadcasting Company (which would later become Tribune Broadcasting). On November 18, 1974, it was announced that Vanta Network (SuperStation KPLS at the time) would launch as the first superstation on April 28. And then it did.
The One and Only ‘75 (1975-1979)[]
The superstation would launch on April 28, 1975, as SuperStation KPLS, with 4 shows airing at launch (being Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune, The Jetsons, and The Flintstones). It was the national feed of the station by the same name that served the Cleveland, Texas area, and its first branding was their take on the "One and Only TV 9" branding that WUSA used when it was still WTOP. The 5th show on the KPLS lineup started aired on July 12, 1976, being Family Feud. KPLS's plans to join the Kansas State Network dated back to 1978. A day before the rebrand, WUSA, as WDVM, sued KPLS for using their "One and Only TV 9" branding without permission, resulting in KPLS having to use a different branding from that moment forward.
The Nine and Only (1979-1982)[]
On July 12, 1979, SuperStation KPLS changed its branding and logo for the first time, attempting to be more futuristic, yet it also did their take on WWOR's "More for You/As You Like It" branding, with permission this time. This era was when the trend of more shows appearing on the network started, with M*A*S*H, The Smurfs, and SNL making their debut on the network. The presence of new shows made the network more diverse in terms of programming, and thus, ratings rose, which in turn saved the network from what would've been its eventual shutdown. In 1981, their plans on joining the Kansas State Network went full force, with them planning on doing so on August 20 of the next year.
Turn to KSN! (1982-1993)[]
On August 20, 1982, SuperStation KPLS changed its callsign to KSNP. They were unique from the other KSN members due to it not airing the same programming as KSNW (aka KSN's flagship station) and also being a superstation rather than just a normal station like the other KSN members. This branding lasted for 11 years, the longest time they had a specific branding, tied with the next branding, which would also last 11 years. New shows started popping up more and more, but some shows also were put on the chopping block, with Jetsons and Flintstones biting the dust first, and some shows not even lasting to the end of the branding. This era was the birth of its night block, which persisted throughout the channel's history.
Sketches '93 (1993-1998)[]
On April 15, 1993, KSNP-TV changed its branding to be "more playful" according to some former employees. This is the point where new shows started appearing less and more would start to disappear more. Like the last branding, some shows didn't even last to the end of the branding. The superstation's future was at stake because viewership started to drop and the schedule became very repetitive. However, in order to save itself, it decided to spread internationally, starting off with Canada, UK, Ireland, and Australia, all launching on dates ranging from 1996 to 1997. Originally, they were just relays of the American feed.
Starstrike (1998-2009)[]
On February 12, 1998, just under 5 years after the last era's debut, KSNP-TV decided to change its branding again because the employees believed that the last era was the reason why their viewership dropped. This era was the near-death of the superstation as viewership started dropping more and more. The worst part was that from 2000 to 2008, there were only two new shows, thus starting the "Dark Ages" of KSNP-TV. On the bright side, more global feeds of the superstation started launching, even the existing ones started to become their own feeds on the turn of the century. At the end of the era, they decided to renounce their superstation status and announced their relaunch as a new channel on October 8, 2009. This was also when their full-power analog signal permanently signed off, near the end of the era. On July 26, 2007, Tribune Broadcasting sold the superstation to what would later become the Vantablack Media Group.
Welcome To (2009-2014)[]
When KSNP-TV relaunched as Pencilvannia on October 11, 2009, they rebranded to a city-type style, which according to a former employee, was somewhat based off of Peachtree TV's branding at the time. And even better, multiple new shows were releasing for the first time since 2005! In other words, this was basically a renaissance of the network as viewership started rising back up, and even some older viewers who stopped watching as early as the Turn To KSN! era returned!
Sketches '14 (2014-2018)[]
On December 12, 2013, the channel announced that they were going to bring back their Sketches branding, updated for the then-modern era. On March 10, 2014, they officially rebranded to said branding. This era saw the birth of the Indie Transfer Students block as The Interweb Portal on December 8, 2015. The era was less infamous than Sketches '94 but was still not positively received.
Globo-esque (2018-2022)[]
On July 17, 2018, the channel changed its name to Pencilvannia, and with the channel's renaming, came a new branding based off of the 1972 Rede Globo idents, with permission of course. This era started the "Golden Age" of Pencilvannia, as opposed to the "Dark Ages" of KSNP-TV, since more shows were starting to air, and faster too. There were plans for the network, dated 2020, to rebrand as the Aumsum Network, the Dr. Binocs Network, and even an early concept of TDN which would end up becoming real 5 years later, but of course none of them saw the light of day. This was also when their low-power analog signal permanently signed off.
Be There! (2022-2023)[]
On March 25, 2022, they announced another rebrand, this time to the Oddball Cricket Network, based off of Cricket Green from Big City Greens, also with permission. On April 1, 2022, they officially changed their name to the Oddball Cricket Network and confirmed that the rebrand was not an April Fool's prank. The new branding also was based off of both NBC and ATN 7's Be There campaigns, with permission from both of them as well. This is where eras started to become less persistent, as they started to be shorter.
Here We Go! (2023-2024)[]
On August 28, 2023, the network rebranded to the Vanta Network, basing it off the company that owned it. They also decided to move on from their Pencilmation association by no longer airing Pencilmation episodes. The branding was partially based off of Nickelodeon's Silver Ball idents, only using the music from the idents,
Resonance (2024-2025)[]
On September 20, 2024, the network decided to rebrand with no announcement to a much simpler era. It was based off of HOME's Resonance song. This era was the shortest, for it only lasted 3 months.
The One and Only ‘25 (2025)[]
After the The Final Vanta Network Broadcast Day event, they decided that, for their 50th anniversary, the network would revert back to its first branding, but with a bit of a modern twist on it. This branding would remain in use until New Year's 2026, even after the network's rebrand to TDN.
We'll Take It from Here (2026-present)[]
On New Year's Day 2026, the network changed its branding, this time cementing their plans on having Dressy be a "mascot" for the network but also introducing Stanley as a "vice-mascot". It also marked the beginning of a new era, as several Nickelodeon shows, as well as the first 3 Sonic shows and Friends, entered the network. This was because they were planning on being a replacement to Nickelodeon in several countries where it closed down. The "we" the branding is referring to is the mascots of the network. The network also started calling itself "the new home of Captain Underpants", or in other countries, "the new home of SpongeBob SquarePants".

Marathons/Events[]
The Naninithon (November 24, 2023-November 25, 2023)[]
The Naninithon was an all-day marathon that consisted of only episodes of OK K.O. which had Nanini in any way in it.
Back From The Dead (June 1, 2024-June 2, 2024)[]
Back From The Dead was a marathon that consisted of every Victor and Valentino episode in order.
The Final Vanta Network Broadcast Day (December 31, 2024-January 1, 2025)[]
The Final Vanta Network Broadcast Day was an event that took place from December 31, 2024, to January 1, 2025, where the network pretended to plan on shutting down the day after. The network aired the finales or latest episodes of every show it aired thus far, including the ones it stopped airing, ending off with the premieres of BFDIA 17 and a modified TPOT 15 where instead of Gaty accepting One’s deal that saves the BFDI universe, Gaty refuses and unintentionally lets the BFDI universe end right then and there, and then a “final” sign off played, which at the end of it the network reveals that it was a stunt to advertise the BFDI “The Shift” event’s premiere and says that they were just joking and then played the actual episode from where it was modified in the fake-out version. It caused backlash.
From One Home to Another (July 20, 2025)[]
From One Home to Another was a marathon that consisted of every Harvey Girls Forever! episode in order after said show got removed from Netflix.
The Last Vanta Network Broadcast Day Forever and Ever (For Real This Time) (We Hugging Mean It) (November 30, 2025-December 1, 2025)[]
The Last Vanta Network Broadcast Day Forever and Ever (For Real This Time) (We Hugging Mean It) was an event that took place from November 30, 2025, to December 1, 2025, where the network claimed to actually shut down unlike the previous time they tried to "sign off". Like the last time, the network aired the finales or latest episodes of every show it aired thus far, including the ones it stopped airing and a preview of BFDIA 23. During some of the final episodes, there were edits that imply that the channel wasn't going to sign off forever after the marathon, including an edit where Dressy is staring at the viewer during the final TETOCU episode. However, people thought the edits were just anomalies or hacks. Unlike the last time, it had credits after the "final" sign off announcement, making it more believable. After the credits, it was revealed that it was just a bit to advertise the rebrand to TDN. Like the last time, it caused backlash.
The Naninithon 2: The Gooberthon (January 10, 2026)[]
The Naninithon 2: The Gooberthon was a marathon that consisted of only episodes of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants where Dressy or Stanley have major appearances.
Incidents/Anomalies/Hacks[]
Vanta Network has a fair share of incidents, as all networks do. Sometimes those incidents are tame, sometimes those incidents nearly get their license revoked. Sometimes they are major enough to be considered anomalies or hacks.
Superstation KPLS Era (1975-1982)[]
- On April 12, 1979, the superstation forgot to air something from the schedule and aired just a black screen for a few minutes before remembering. Nicknamed the “Midnight” incident.
KSNP-TV Era (1982-2009)[]
- On November 22, 1987, the superstation accidentally aired the Max Headroom signal hijacking as it was happening on the national feed. Nicknamed the “Headroom Relay” incident.
- On March 12, 2000, the superstation was hacked to air explicit content in the middle of SpongeBob SquarePants, but the transmitters immediately blocked it from airing and thus, freezing SpongeBob in place while one of the possible technical difficulties music played in the background for 50 seconds before the episode resumed. Shortly after, one of the employees vomited and it accidentally played audio of it on air and another employee had to stop the transmitters and switch the broadcast to the technical difficulties screen. Nicknamed the “SpongePorn” incident.
- On May 9, 2001, a time traveler from 2025 hacked the superstation during the SpongeBob SquarePants episode Something Smells and made Patrick's voice stutter enough to sound like Sans from Undertale, have Sans fade in while Megalovania played, and then a moment later, showed lobotomized Li Bert (mind you, none of this existed in 2001) with Matt Rose screaming before switching to the technical difficulties screen immediately after. Nicknamed the “Sans n Bert” incident.
Pencilville Era (2009-2018)[]
- On January 1, 2010, the network was hijacked during the premiere of BFDI 1a and the episode was modified to have Woody bleed after he fell to the ground after being kicked by Teardrop. The program immediately switched to the technical difficulties screen. Nicknamed the “Bloody Woody” incident.
- On March 3, 2015, the network broadcasted an uninterrupted loop of the same ''Animaniacs'' episode due to a technical malfunction which lasted an hour straight. Nicknamed the "Groundhog" incident.
- On October 31, 2016, the channel accidentally ran every advertisement upside down, confusing and even amusing people, Nicknamed the "Upside Down Ad" incident.
- On July 5, 2018, the network accidentally aired a fake nuclear attack warning which caused panic among its watchers. They later issued an apology. Nicknamed the “False Alarm” Incident.
- On July 15, 2018, a few days before the rebrand to Pencilvannia, they accidentally aired their admin panel, revealing some inside jokes among the employees. Nicknamed the “Debug Mode” incident.
Pencilvannia Era (2018-2022)[]
- On September 26, 2018, during a rerun of Luvie's My Nightmare Nintendo DS Repair, the phrase "I sure love me some headaches!" was replaced with a lyric from Everybody Wants to Rule the World constantly repeating, more specifically, the lyric "it's my own design". It turned out that a hacker had messed with the schedule and somehow managed to splice a music channel's signal with the network's signal, resulting in this monstrosity, but on the plus side it did become a meme years later, so yeah. Nicknamed the “IT’S MY OWN DESIGN” incident.
- On March 10, 2019, CaryKH saying swears was accidentally aired on the network and to this day it randomly pops up for whatever reason. Nicknamed the “S.F.B.P.R” incident.
- During the 2020 rebrand’s first few months, they accidentally air the 2018 branding’s idents occasionally. Nicknamed the “Time Warp” incident.
- On July 20, 2021, a few badly drawn fanmade Pencilmation "episodes" were hacked on air. Nicknamed the “P.W.T.S.M.I.M.U” incident.
- On January 13, 2022, that same time traveler from 2025 that hacked the network back in 2001 hacked the network to air a specific frame from the then-upcoming Gumball Season 7 intro with Matt Rose saying “grandma threatened to shit in the turkey” playing over it and then the program froze in the middle of him saying turkey. Nicknamed the “Gumball Shit” incident.

The Oddball Cricket Network Era (2022-2023)[]
- On April 7, 2022, just a mere 6 days after its rebrand, that day’s Jeopardy caused the censors to disengage and cause the transmitters to show questionable images… all because of a contestant saying “sus”. Nicknamed the “What is ‘sus’?” incident.
- After the “sus” incident, there were a lot of mishaps involving the censors being disengaged because of a certain word being said. One of those times played the explicit parts of the uncensored version of Doc and Mharti, which nearly caused the network’s license to get revoked by the FCC.
- On May 6, 2022, the network accidentally aired the “banned” laxative episode of Oh Shiitake Mushrooms, and shortly after that, a rival network started to hack them and air a modified version of the network’s ident at the time, but with Amphibia fanart replacing the “BE THERE” in the bubble and said fanart “jumpscaring” the viewer. Nicknamed the “First Shot” incident, and in 2025, retroactively renamed the "Rivalry Reverie" incident based off of the song "Static" by Flavor Folley.
- On June 10, 2022, the network accidentally started an April Fools version of itself called “the PLN” much earlier than intended. They intended for the PLN to sign on April Fools 2023. Nicknamed the “PLN” incident.
- On July 29, 2022, the auto-censors went rogue and replaced nearly every word with a wet fart sound effect during a rerun of BFB 5. The visuals were unaffected. Nicknamed the “BFardB” incident.
- On November 20, 2022, during a rerun of SMG4's WOTFI 2021, the audio was suddenly replaced with a more explicit version made by AI, which was speculated to be at the fault of the auto-censors as well. This caused the show to stop airing on the network for 3 years. Nicknamed the "Alex" incident.
- On February 11, 2023, the network accidentally aired an episode of Street Cents, specifically, the part which played the then-obscure song “Just Passin’ By” by Big Picture. It caused the “World Was So Easy” search to be spread further. Nicknamed the “World Was So Easy” incident.
- On July 28, 2023, - a JellyBean hater kept airing kaka v420 videos about hating on JellyBean… during JellyBean. Nicknamed the “You Guys Are A Bunch Of Haters” incident.
- On August 24, 2023, a few employees intentionally played a clip from a YTP where Mr. Krabs says "I have to come" multiple times throughout the day. They were fired. Nicknamed the “Freaky Krabs” incident.
Vanta Network Era (2023-2025)[]
- On September 4, 2023, during one of the idents, a twerking Squidward came out from the top of the screen, landing on the logo, and shat on Rainbow Dash, following with her saying “I’m a shithead” uncensored. It turned out that one of the employees were messing around and accidentally aired their edit of said ident. Nicknamed the “Shithead” incident.
- On November 11, 2023, the network accidentally aired an extremely loud clip of Mr. Small yelling at an old lady during an airing of OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes. Nicknamed the “Mother” incident.
- On January 1, 2024, a troll aired a reading of an explicit Gravity Falls fanfic (being Dipper Goes to Taco Bell) and almost got the network's license revoked. Nicknamed the "Fluid Consumption" incident, and later retroactively renamed the "Make It Rain" incident.
- A day after the last one, the same troll aired a reading of another explicit Gravity Falls fanfic (that time being Mabel Goes to Wendy's) by The FanFic Critic. Nicknamed the "YOU CANNOT LIVE OFF OF SHIT!" incident.
- On July 20, 2024, the network’s visuals froze right on a frame where JellyBean was bald during a JellyBean airing… for a minute which isn’t that long, but people were still unsettled because it looked “cursed” to them. Nicknamed the “JellyBald” incident.
- On the same day as the bald JellyBean incident, during an airing of SmokeeBee, the censors detected the content to be "silly goober" and then played cat noises over it, causing several viewers' cats to go crazy. Nicknamed the “meow :3” incident.
- On December 1, 2024, an (now ex) intern tampered with the BFDI 25 files and made it so it aired someone's take on BFDI 26 (which is a creepypasta and involves Flower killing the contestants and Announcer, and in this take, herself) and the network accidentally aired the tampered version of BFDI 25. Nicknamed the “Return of the Hang Tamperer” incident.
- On June 14, 2025, someone from the network accidentally played the first 4 minutes of a Luciano Eduardo video on the network, more specifically, the one where it seemed like he tried to kill off his persona. The network stated that it was an accident, but people liked it, so 2 weeks later it became a permanent part of the network, albeit dubbed from Portuguese to English. Nicknamed the “Oi Gente” incident.
- On July 9, 2025, a disgruntled viewer who was tired of the “the guy who watched the Simpsons back in 1994” part because of the memes hacked the network in the middle of said part and played the same take on BFDI 26 that was accidentally played 8 months prior. However, after the BFDI 26 take, said viewer aired his opinions on the meme, complete with uncensored slurs and offensive terms, and then the network went off air for the day due to the FCC. Believe it or not, this was the only hacking to change the screenbug (which during the hacking, changed to a version of the logo which said “THEY SHOULD’VE LEFT THE MEME DEAD”), and was the biggest incident in Vanta Network history. It also caused the network to get on the news. Nicknamed the “Dead Horse” incident.
- Not a hacking or an incident in general, but on July 14, 2025, at the end of TPOT 19's premiere, an ident makes a nod at the network's hackings by saying "No, this wasn't a hacking. It was all too real".
- On July 30, 2025, an airing of Family Guy was interrupted with a very loud clip of Mr. Krupp going Space Crazy™, which damaged several people's TV speakers. It was revealed to be an accident, and the network gave people free TV speaker repairs for compensation.
- Since early 2025, “job” has sometimes accidentally been censored due to the auto-censors, while training, flagging “job” as a curse due to it being jokingly censored on the Internet, a bunch of other words were also accidentally censored.
- On August 12, 2025, during a BFDI 1a, a racist hacker hacked the network to change it so that Ice Cube calls Flower the N word instead of just saying “uh… no?” In response to Flower asking her if she looked beautiful. Some say that the employees hurriedly tried to stop the broadcast before Ice Cube said the word because if she said the word, the network's license would be revoked by the FCC. Nicknamed the “Racist Cube” incident.
- On October 8, 2025, at the beginning of a rerun of CandyEvie, the program froze immediately, then Matt Rose screamed before unfreezing. Weirdly enough, the CandyEvie video that froze was “my dumb dumb thoughts on Pokemon Legends Z-A” which starts with her character sprite looking unintentionally seductive for whatever reason. Some consider this the shortest incident in Vanta Network history. Nicknamed the “STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT” incident.
- On October 29, 2025, during a SmokeeBee airing, the program suddenly cut to the first 29 seconds of the SMG4 ending announcement and stopped when SMG4 said that he was ending SMG4 and it switched to a meme where Jonah Jameson laughed. Viewers thought it was either an accident, intentional, or a hack. Nicknamed the "You Serious?" incident.
- On November 29, 2025, during an airing of The Epic Tales of Captain Underpants, as Dressy and Bo were getting petrified by the Blah Borelock, the auto-censors were hacked to stop the episode, telling viewers that Dressy needed to be saved. Nicknamed the “Blessing in Disguise” incident.
TDN Era (2025-present)[]
- On December 3, 2025, the network accidentally reverted its branding back to the Vanta Network one due to a bug which was patched an hour later. A few hours after that, the network was hijacked to replace the TDN logo with the Vanta Network logo and claimed that it reverted back to Vanta Network before the network regained control and debunked the claims. Both are nicknamed the “Logo Ghost” incidents.
- On December 18, 2025, the network accidentally switched its digital signal with the analog signal and vice versa. This incident caused them to truly discontinue its analog signal. Nicknamed the "Wrong Signal" incident.
- On December 23, 2025, during an airing of The Simpsons, the Flanders in Homer’s thought bubble was replaced with Captain Underpants’ mangled teeth and Homer proceeded to get severed in half by a tree. This was revealed to be an accident by one of the employees as they edited the episode off-duty and accidentally overrode the actual episode. It cut immediately to the technical difficulties screen. Nicknamed the “Homer Severed in Half” incident.
Censorship/Airing changes[]
- F-bombs and other major profanities are censored, albeit instead of beeps, it’s random sound effects.
- From 2018 to 2023, some minor words were erroneously censored due to the censors automatically flagging said words. The censors were nerfed once 2023 hit.
- From 2025 onwards, any F-bomb that was censored is sometimes censored with a character from Crash Zoom saying “hugging” because in said show, they say “hugging” as a substitute for the F-bomb.
- Slurs are completely removed, or at least attempted to be removed.
- When something sexual or a word that is usually censored shows on screen, it is censored by a random image.
- If the word that is censored is said, it is censored with a sound associated with said image.
- Obviously, Luciano Eduardo was dubbed to English.
- The Family Guy episode “Lois Kills Stewie” had the DVD-exclusive “I’ve Got a Little List” song unlike any other network. However, it would be skipped in airings after July 9, 2025 due to it being the root cause of the biggest hacking the network has faced.
- On August 24, 2025, it was brought back, but with the "the guy who watched the Simpsons back in 1994" part being skipped.
- Any sponsors in shows that originally came from YouTube are skipped.
- In BFDI and Inanimate Insanity, the voting screens are skipped.
- From 2025 onwards, there was a transition animation before shows with a different aspect ratio than 16:9 and after shows with a different aspect ratio than 16:9.
National Anthem Usages[]
1975-1978: Flag Evolution SSB. The first national anthem ever used by the network.
1978-1980: Mormons SSB.
1980-1982: Split-Screen SSB. Man, they couldn't decide on what national anthem to use back then.
1982-1983: Moog SSB. The shortest run of a national anthem's usage on TDN (then called KSNP-TV),
1983-2026: Aim High America SSB. From 2014 to 2026, the network was known for still using the Aim High America SSB even after most stations discontinued its usage by either going 24/7 or replacing it with another SSB film.
2026-present: TDN SSB. On January 3, 2026, the network stopped using the Aim High America SSB and replaced it with an original Aim High America rendition not used by any other network. For the first few months, it used a slightly lower pitched version of the Aim High America SSB's audio before being replaced with an actual original rendition.
Trivia[]
- The network was prone to incidents throughout its lifetime and has gained infamy because of it. Despite that, the network is still airing, and sometimes they even embrace its incidents.
- They even nickname each incident, starting from the first recorded one, along with a codename that consists of a short string of letters and numbers.
- It had a low-power analog signal from its launch until July 13, 2021, which after that, went inactive.
- It also had a full-power analog signal from its launch until June 12, 2009, which too went inactive after that.
- So far, Luciano Eduardo is the only permanent part of the network that was caused by an accidental airing.
- The network used the Trilithic EASyPLUS encoder until mid-2021, at which they started using their own EAS slide.
