Superman & the Transformers is animated series that is a crossover between the Superman and Transformers franchises, co-produced between DC Studios and Hasbro Studios. The first season debuted on Paramount+ and HBO Max in the summer of 2026, with each subsequent season released each year afterwards. Robert J. Kral, who previously composed music for Superman: Doomsday and Superman Vs. The Elite, composed the music for the series. The theme from Doomsday was used in the series as Superman's theme.
Premise[]
The series follows a group of Autobots operating on Earth - Optimus Prime, Wheeljack, Ironhide, Elita One, and Bumblebee - and their battle against the evil Decepticons, lead by Megatron. Assisting the Autobots is a teenager named Clark Kent, who is himself an alien from the planet Krypton and now assists the Autobots as a superhero called Superman. Additionally, Clark's friends, Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen, are also friends with the Autobots and provide their own form of assistance, along with DEO agent Steve Trevor.
In Season One, Clark, Lois, and Jimmy meet and befriend the Autobots, which gets them pulled into the middle of their battle with the Decepticons. Circumstances ultimately motivate Clark to become Superman and use the powers his alien biology gives him to help the Autobots fight their enemy, while Lois and Jimmy provide support using their investigative and technologically gifted talents. DEO Agent Steve Trevor, meanwhile, does his best to keep the Transformers' existence a secret from the public. Matters get complicated, however, when nefarious billionaire and weapons developer Lex Luthor learns about the Transformers and sets out to use their biology to create profitable weapons. Now, Superman, the Autobots and their allies must work to stop Megatron while also keeping Cybertronian biology out of Luthor's hands.
Season Two picks up where the previous season left off, with Superman discovering a pod just like the one that brought him to Earth. Inside is Kara Zor-El, who turns out to be Clark's biological cousin, and the two quickly form a strong bond. Kara's arrival proves to be critical, as a series of events result in Kryptonian criminal General Zod and his subordinates escaping from the Phantom Zone and aligning themselves with Megatron and his armada. Now, Superman, the Autobots and the newly-christened Supergirl must find a way to stop General Zod and the Decepticons while keeping powerful Kryptonian relics out of their hands.
The third and final season begins with the Autobots and their allies scattered and on the run after their base has been destroyed. Optimus Prime is believed to be dead, and Superman has sacrificed himself to stop Doomsday. The survivors' only hope is to regroup and destroy Megatron's new stronghold despite the impossible odds that are against them. However, hope is restored when a revived Optimus and Superman return to assist the Autobots and the DEO in destroying the Decepticon Citadel. When it is revealed that Megatron is working to obtain Mother Boxes to open a Boom Tube portal and release the notorious Darkseid from his pocket dimension prison, Superman, Supergirl and the Autobots must forge an alliance with other iconic DC superheroes to stop Megatron once and for all.
Cast[]
Autobots[]
- Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen): The legendary leader of the Autobots. He has a red-and-blue color scheme and transforms into a large big rig. Once a mining bot named Orion Pax, he was best friends with D-16 (Megatron) before an inevitable series of events turned their friendship into a bitter rivalry. While Optimus does his best to be compassionate and reasonable towards his fellow Autobots and their allies, he is not flexible about the rules he makes to ensure the safety of his team. As the oldest and most experienced member, Optimus is wise and puts his feelings aside when faced with any situation, no matter how personal it may be for him. Having known Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van personally before Krypton's destruction, Optimus considers their son Kal-El a trusted ally. Peter Cullen reprises his role from the original animated series.
- Elita-1 (Laura Bailey): Optimus Prime's second-in-command and close friend. She has a blue-and-silver color scheme and transforms into a Porsche-like sports car. She is also Clark Kent (Superman) and Kara Kent's (Supergirl) guardian. Despite presenting herself as having a tough-as-nails exterior and being one of the deadliest warriors her team has, Elita-1 is in fact a kind Autobot who cares about everyone around her and was hardened by the horrors of the war on Cybertron. Despite disciplining herself so much, Elita is like a big sister to Clark and, along with Optimus, encourages him to keep fighting as Superman when he thinks low of himself. Whenever Superman is facing supervillains in Metropolis, Elita is usually nearby to give him a hand if he should need it.
- Bumblebee (Will Friedle): The team's scout and youngest Autobot. He has a yellow-and-black color scheme and transforms into a Mustang-like muscle car. He is Jimmy Olsen's guardian. Although Bumblebee is young for an Autobot, he is possibly the team's most loyal member and is more than capable of holding his own in battle. He is best friends with Jimmy and shares a love of X-File-level conspiracy theories. Bee would not hesitate to leap into a deadly firefight or take a shot for Optimus, the only thing he fears being the loss of his friends and family. With enough time and experience, he could one day succeed Optimus as the next Prime.
- Ironhide (Travis Willingham): The team's muscle and weapons expert. He has a burgundy-and-silver color scheme and transforms into a heavy-duty offroad pickup truck. He is Lois Lane's guardian. Ironhide is gruff, ornery, and believes actions speak louder than words, however, his time as Lois's guardian results in him developing a soft spot for her and a result, he tends to be gentle and kind around the team's allies. Despite loving the idea of a good fight, he dislikes Lois's tendencies to get herself into trouble while doing the right thing, which motivates him to change his demeanor and set a better example. He enjoys fighting alongside Superman, having been impressed by the young alien's display of power.
- Wheeljack (J. K. Simmons): The team's tech expert and medic. He has a white-and-blue color scheme and transforms into a sleek patrol car. Wheeljack is frustrated by life on Earth, from the "primitive" human technology he has to make the best of to the low supply of Energon, which puts the team at a disadvantage. He is friends with Jimmy Olsen, whose vast knowledge of technology is critical in helping Wheeljack gain an advantage over the Decepticons, causing Wheeljack to think highly of Jimmy.
Allies[]
- Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman (Josh Peck): A sixteen-year-old Kryptonian sent to Earth as a baby, who befriends the Autobots and fights the Decepticons alongside them as Superman. He is 6'0", handsome, and muscular, but just enough to still not be visible under baggy clothes. As Superman, he appears just like his classic comic book counterpart, though his Clark Kent appearance is based on Peter Parker. Brave, selfless, and kindhearted, Superman is a true hero with a definite sense of right and wrong, though as a teenager, he is still unsure of himself, which can be a greater flaw than Kryptonite. While he tries his best to keep Lois from getting into danger (and rarely succeeds), he does not hesitate to enter a fight regardless of the danger. Because he is a publicly known figure, any Cybertronian activity is usually explained as him trying to keep the planet safe. Superman temporarily abandons his Clark Kent persona during Season 3, but returns to it at the end after Darkseid and the Decepticons are defeated. He also joins the Justice League as its leader. His Autobot is Elita-1.
- Lois Lane (Haley Tju): A sixteen-year-old high school student with dreams of becoming an award-winning reporter, and Clark Kent's friend and love interest. She is Asian-American like she was in My Adventures with Superman, with an athletic build. Strong-willed, feisty, and brave, Lois is just as dedicated to the Autobot cause as Superman is. If there is any way she can help, she will do it regardless of the danger she is putting herself in, much to the chagrin of her friends and the Autobots. This causes her to get into many arguments with Clark. Despite this, she is usually capable of taking care of herself and rarely requires Superman to actually save her. She also finds herself developing feelings for Clark, though this does not hinder her arguing with him. Her Autobot is Ironhide.
- Jimmy Olsen (Tyrel Jackson Williams): A sixteen-year-old high school student and gifted photographer who is Clark Kent's best friend and neighbor. He is Black like he was in My Adventures with Superman, but unlike Lois or Clark, he does not have an athletic build. A lover of the strange and unusual, Jimmy is passionate about learning everything about the Autobots and their culture. Their existence convinces him that he is right about all the strange cryptids he believes in (though it technically does not prove anything). He is a tech expert and usually assists Wheeljack with providing technical aid to the Autobots during missions. Jimmy later develops a crush on Clark's Kryptonian cousin, Kara (Supergirl) and has started a relationship with her. His Autobot is Bumblebee.
- Kara Zor-El/Kara Kent/Supergirl (Mae Whitman) (Seasons 2-3): Superman's sixteen-year-old cousin from Krypton, who arrived on Earth sixteen years after her cousin for unknown reasons and possesses all of his powers. She is a beautiful, attractive young woman with an athletic, muscular yet voluptuous body, with crystal blue eyes like her cousin and golden blonde hair. Her Supergirl uniform is much like Superman's, with a blue shirt, red skirt, and a long red cape. Open-minded, brave, and selfless, Kara loves her cousin very much after bonding with him, and the two have since been inseparable. She tends to be somewhat protective of Superman, which only intensifies when he returns after being resurrected following his death battle with Doomsday, which tends to strain her relationship with Jimmy as she would abandon him if she thinks Clark is in danger. During the final battle with General Zod, she is transformed into the Flamebird - a being from Kryptonian folklore - but returns to normal after Zod is banished back to the Phantom Zone. Supergirl joins the Justice League alongside her cousin at the end of the series. Her Autobot is Elita-1.
- Steve Trevor (Nolan North): A Department of Extranormal Operations (DEO) agent and the designated liaison between the Autobots and the outside world, who is normally responsible for running interference when there is a human element in play. His appearance is based on Tom Cruise's likeness, but with blonde hair and blue eyes. Trevor initially starts off as having a no-nonsense personality and does not like how the Autobots draw unwanted attention with their fights with the Decepticons, but becomes a much more tolerant and kind-hearted ally as the series progresses. Trevor also sees Superman as a valuable asset, as his powers often give the Autobots a huge advantage over the Decepticons.
- Martha Kent (Laurie Metcalf): Clark's adoptive mother, Kara's adoptive aunt, and Jonathan Kent's widow. She is also the current caretaker of the Kent Farm and the person who made Clark's Superman costume (and later Kara's Supergirl costume). Martha is a kind woman who is revered by the community and loves her son very much. She has good relationship with Elita-1, as both share a desire to protect Clark while also supporting his heroics. When Kara arrived, Martha was gifted with the daughter she never had, making her world even brighter. Though saddened by Clark's decision to abandon his Kent persona, Martha remained optimistic when he promised her it was only temporary and would return, and was relieved when he did.
Decepticons[]
- Megatron (Frank Welker): The evil leader of the Decepticons. He has a chrome color scheme and transforms into an alien spaceship (out of the belief that Earth-based vehicle modes are beneath him). Once a mining bot named D-16, he was best friends with Orion Pax (Optimus Prime) until a dark turn sent him down the path of villainy. Cruel and sadistic, Megatron is a leader both feared and honored by his soldiers. He has zero tolerance for failure and looks down on any and all lifeforms that are not Cybertronian (with the exception of Kryptonians). Megatron possesses a deep hatred for Optimus, a hatred he extends to Superman, as the superhero always manages to deliver a severe blow to the Decepticons' operations. In the series finale, Megatron is killed when Superman and the Flash trick Darkseid's Omega Beams into striking the Decepticon Warlord. Welker reprises his role from the original animated series.
- Starscream (Steve Blum): Megatron's second-in-command. He has a black-and-white color scheme and transforms into a powerful fighter jet. Starscream is a very treacherous Decepticon with not much loyalty to Megatron. He is always looking for an opportunity to claim Megatron's leadership for himself, but always fails. The many failures he has experienced trying to defeat the Autobots - along with his disobedience of Megatron's orders - have come at the cost of his own physical well-being. Starscream is the reason Megatron is constantly on his guard.
- Soundwave (Isaac C. Singleton Jr.): An intelligence gatherer and scout. He has a blue-and-gray color scheme and transforms into a stealth bomber. Soundwave speaks with a digitized voice and has an arsenal of self-aware drones to do low-key tasks. He is extremely loyal to Megatron and usually the one who thwarts Starscream's plots to overthrow the Decepticon leader. One of the worst qualities of Soundwave is that he possesses a greater understanding of human technology than even Jimmy, which creates a rivalry between the two of them. A very intelligent bot, Soundwave is impossible to fool. Singleton reprises his role from the War for Cybertron video games.
- Airarchnid (Mara Wilson): A Decepticon asset and one of Megatron's best enforcers. She has an all black color scheme and transforms into a futuristic helicopter, with the ability to use spider legs. Vicious and sociopathic, Airachnid shares a history with Elita-1 and has a severe animosity towards Superman. She takes pleasure in spilling the Energon of any bot she comes across but is secretly afraid of Megatron, which is why she does not dare step out of line. Airachnid has proven to be a difficult foe for even Optimus to face.
- Shockwave (Anthony Ruivivar): The Decepticons' resident scientist and medic. He has an all purple color and tansforms into a Cybertronian tank. Unlike the other Transformers, he has a single robotic eye instead of a face. Cold and calculating, he is almost emotionless, but is still capable of experiencing anger and fascination. He is a foe even Optimus might not stand a chance against, and his computer-like mind could even rival Lex Luthor's. He is fascinated by Kryptonians, having never had the chance to study a specimen, and is obsessed with obtaining Superman's corpse so he can discover how the Man of Steel's powers work and give it to the Decepticons.
Other Villains[]
- Lex Luthor (Haley Joel Osment) (Season 1, guest Season 3): A villainous billionaire and CEO, Superman's archnemesis, and the first Earth-based supervillain the Autobots encounter. He possesses an IQ of 285. Luthor is an extremely dangerous adversary and is even referred to by Optimus as the "Megatron of Earth." He is obsessed with obtaining knowledge of Cybertronian biology so that he can create his own Transformers to sell to the military as weapons. Luthor is also well-aware that Superman has a deadly vulnerability to Kryptonite and has amassed a large stockpile often arming supervillains with it or using it to mutate them. Near the end of the season, Luthor is finally imprisoned by the DEO, but briefly escapes during the third season only to be apprehended again by Superman.
- Mercy Graves (Lucy Liu) Luthor's personal assistant, bodyguard, and chauffeur. Little is known about her past, but what is known is that she is Luthor's most trusted ally and will fight viciously to protect him from any and all threats, including Superman and the Autobots.
- Rudy Jones/Parasite (William Salyers): A former LexCorp janitor turned into a monster with power draining abilities. Parasite can drain the powers, memories, and life force of anything he comes in contact with, including the Autobots. Prolonged contact can be fatal.
- John Corben/Metallo (Roger Craig Smith): A mercenary whose brain was planted into a robot that is powered by Kryptonite. His body can also reconfigure, allowing him to turn his limbs into deadly weapons that can harm Kryptonians and Cybertronians.
- Leslie Willis/Livewire (Kari Wahlgren): A Metropolis felon who was given electrokinetic powers allowing her to discharge lethal amounts of electricity in a single blast. Her powers are extreme enough to incapacitate even the strongest Autobots.
- General Zod (Giancarlo Esposito) (Season 2): A rogue Kryptonian general who attempted to overthrow the Kryptonian Council decades ago. This version is African-American like in Young Justice. Zod was once Jor-El's best friend, but his belief in using force while Jor-El preferred more diplomatic methods tore apart their friendship and resulted in Zod's imprisonment in the Phantom Zone. Following his escape, he and his followers ally themselves with Megatron and the Decepticons to obtain Kryptonian artifacts that fell to Earth following Krypton's destruction. He has a personal grudge against the House of El and will stop at nothing to exact his revenge against Kal-El and Kara Zor-El, the House of El's remaining survivors. Near the end of the season, Zod is banished back to the Phantom Zone along with his followers.
- Faora Hu-Ul (Kari Wahlgren): General Zod's wife and second-in-command, and the mother of Lor-Zod. Fiercely loyal to her husband, Faora is a vicious warrior not to be underestimated. She views Superman and Supergirl's moral beliefs as an evolutionary weakness and takes great pleasure in taunting them about it. Faora shows little emotion other than anger or disappointment, much of which is directed at her son when he fails her. Faora is ultimately banished back to the Phantom Zone.
- Lor-Zod/Nightwing (Zeno Robinson): General Zod's son and one of his followers. Lor-Zod is a fierce and well-trained warrior who wants to make his parents proud. He has come close to beating both Superman and Supergirl on a few occasions, but they usually manage to emerge victorious. Eventually, Lor-Zod realizes that while he wants to make his parents proud of him, his heart does not share their desire to conquer Earth and sides with the Autobots. During the final battle with Zod and his followers, Lor-Zod becomes the Nightwing - a powerful figure from Kryptonian folklore - and sacrifices himself to banish his parents to the Phantom Zone.
- Non (Frank Welker): A brute enforcer of General Zod. He is a mute and lacks average intelligence, often communicating with grunts and facial expressions. He is General Zod's muscle and more powerful than his comrades and Superman, and his beserker-like rage makes him an even deadlier opponent. Non is ultimately banished to the Phantom Zone with Zod.
- Doomsday (Fred Tatasciore) (Season 2): A powerful and animalistic alien aberration of unknown origin, whose only instinct is to kill. Found adrift in space by Megatron, the Decepticon leader unleashed him on Earth as a means to destroy Superman, Supergirl, and the Autobots. All powerful and without reason, Doomsday is an unstoppable killing machine. He was killed by Superman, but only at the cost of the latter's own life.
- Darkseid (Steve Blum) (Season 3): A powerful and evil warlord and the former ruler of Apokolips, before he was banished to a pocket dimension by the residents of New Genesis along with his army of Parademons. Possessing an appetite for conquest and bloodshed, Darkseid was idolized by many would-be warlords, including Megatron, who sought to release him after discovering that the Mother Boxes were on Earth. Darkseid is completely unreasonable and refuses to kneel before anyone. During the series finale, the newly-formed Justice League banish Darkseid back to his prison and destroy the Mother Boxes to ensure he never returns. Blum reprises his role from the movie Justice League: War.
Other Characters[]
- Bruce Wayne/Batman (Hamish Linklater) (Season 3): A wealthy billionaire who protects Gotham City as a costumed vigilante, utilizing an arsenal of vehicles and gadgets and years of martial arts training. Batman is an intimidating person, feared throughout the criminal underworld of Gotham, and his extreme methods of using fear against his enemies have led many to consider him crazy. However, he has a moral code and a strong sense of justice, as he does not kill his enemies (preferring to leave them for the police to arrest), and he always ensures innocent people are not harmed. Batman is a trusted ally of the Gotham Police and works with them to combat the overwhelming levels of crime in Gotham. He joins the Justice League as its second-in-command and assists in the fight against Darkseid. Linklater reprises his role from Caped Crusader.
- Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (Tara Strong) (Season 3): The red-haired daughter of Police Commissioner James Gordon and Batman's partner and protege. Babs grew up admiring her father and became one of Batman's biggest fans when he first appeared. Possessing a background in gymnastics and a computer genius, Barbara also operates under the alias Oracle when not in costume, though she prefers to be out on the street "kicking butt and taking names". Her bright and cheery personality light up the Dark Knight's dark world, which helps him from sinking too much into the darkness and become the very thing he has dedicated his life to fighting. Batgirl becomes best friends with Supergirl after meeting her and often assists Jimmy Olsen with tracking data on the Mother Boxes. She joins the Justice League and assists in the fight against Darkseid. Strong reprises her role from the DC Animated Universe.
- Diana Prince/Wonder Woman (Zehra Fazal) (Season 3): The demigod daughter of Zeus and the Amazon Queen Hippolyta, who has become a drifter following her banishment from Themyscira while operating as the superhero Wonder Woman. Diana is a fierce Amazon warrior with a lifetime of combat training, but is kind and compassionate towards everyone and tries to help anyone in need. Despite the current state of Man's World, she believes it is a place worth saving, a sentiment she shares with Superman. Although she prefers to resolve matters through reason, she is more than ready for a fight should the situation call for it. Diana is shown to be very good with children despite growing up the only child on Themyscira. She joins the Justice League and assists in the fight against Darkseid.
- Jessica Cruz/Green Lantern (Jenna Ortega) (Season 3): A sixteen-year-old high school student from Coast City who was chosen to be the successor to Abin Sur as Sector 2814's Green Lantern. Having witnessed her friends' murder only a year earlier, Jessica suffers from trauma and survivor's guilt and does not understand why the Green Lantern ring chose her. But thanks to encouragement from Supergirl, she learns that she possesses the power to overcome great fear and becomes one of the Corps' most powerful members. It is revealed that without her trauma weighing her down, she possesses a sarcastic sense of humor. She also has an embarrassing crush on Superman. She joins the Justice League and assists in the fight against Darkseid.
- Barry Allen/The Flash: (Yuri Lowenthal) (Season 3): A Central City college student who can run at speeds even faster than Superman after being struck by lightning and doused in chemicals. Barry is a kind and friendly individual who doesn't mind making quips while doing hero work and is very intelligent, allowing him to use his powers in unique and creative ways. However, Barry is tormented by the memory of his mother's murder, which he believes his father was wrongfully convicted for and has driven him to study forensic science. Superman himself inspired Barry to become a superhero in the first place, and as such, Barry strives to follow his example. He joins the Justice League and aids in the fight against Darkseid. Lowenthal reprises his role from the Injustice movie.
- Billy Batson/Shazam! (Kath Soucie as a kid, Sean Astin as an adult) (Season 3): An eleven-year-old foster kid from Philadelphia who can turn into a powerful adult superhero by saying the word, "Shazam!" A huge fan of Superman, Billy has looked up to him ever since he first appeared and tried to follow in his footsteps when he gained powers of his own. Possessing the same childish mindset in superhero form, Shazam! does not act as professionally as the other superheroes, but when the stakes are high, he will not hesitate to do the right thing and protect those he cares about. He joins the Justice League and aids in the fight against Darkseid. Astin reprises his role from the DC Animated Movie Universe.
Guest Villains[]
- The Joker (Kevin Michael Richardson) (Season 3): A former crime boss who gained white skin, green hair, and a complete loss of sanity after falling into a vat of chemicals. He is Batman's archenemy. The Joker is the most insane madman to ever exist and highly intelligent, as he is able to make a toxin called Joker Serum that makes those exposed to it die laughing - including Kryptonians and Cybertronians. He is obsessed with Batman, and their years-long rivalry has given Joker extensive knowledge of Batman's tactics, though the latter usually manages to defeat him. The Joker has been responsible for numerous tragedies in Gotham and once came close to crippling Batgirl. His most loyal ally is his moll, psychiatrist-turned-criminal Harley Quinn, though he only sees as a tool that he believes he has the right to abuse when it not useful. Richardson reprises his role from The Batman animated series.
- Harleen Quinzel/Harley Quinn (Haley Tju): A psychiatrist who became the Joker's moll and henchwoman after he dumped her into the same vat of chemicals he fell into. Almost as insane as her "Puddin'", Harley is never without her giant mallet or her hyenas, Bud and Lou. An enhancement from her friend Poison Ivy gave her upgraded strength allowing her to go toe-to-toe with Batman, though his martial arts training gives him the edge. Sadly, Harley is a prime example of battered woman syndrome, having been abused and thrown out by the Joker many times, only to inevitably come crawling back to him. Because of this, and since she has previously shown to be able to listen to reason, Batman is hopeful she can be rehabilitated, despite the many crimes she has committed.
- Barbara Minerva/Cheetah (Erica Lindbeck): A former archaeologist and friend of Diana Prince before a cursed artifact mutated her into a bloodthirsty, half-human, half-cheetah monster with superhuman strength, speed, and agility. Because of the bloodlust rage, Cheetah hates Wonder Woman with a passion and will viciously maul her to death if given the chance. A complete sociopath, she does not care who she has to kill to get to the Amazonian Princess. With her enhanced sense of smell, she is able to track Wonder Woman over long distances, allowing her to follow the drifter wherever she goes. Employed by Megatron to obtain a Mother Box, she is cured of her bloodlust rage after being ensnared in Wonder Woman's Lasso of Truth and returns to her benevolent self while receiving a job at the DEO, though her monstrous transformation is permanent.
- Sinestro (James Arnold Taylor): The leader of the Yellow Lantern Corps and a former Green Lantern who was discharged due to his extremist methods of maintaining peace in his sector. Determined to impose his own order, Sinestro is willing to do so by any means necessary and has amassed followers who support his cause. He has dedicated himself to eliminating the Green Lantern Corps, the only force who can defeat his own. Ruthless and full of prowess, he has earned his Yellow Lantern Ring and is more than capable of inspiring great fear in his enemies, including Superman, Supergirl, and even the legendary Optimus Prime. This quality makes him a very dangerous enemy for the new Green Lantern Jessica Cruz but also the perfect challenge for her to overcome.
- Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash (Grant Gustin): A murderous speedster from the 25th Century who wears a Flash suit with a reverse color scheme. A former fan of the Flash, Thawne has grown to resent the Scarlet Speedster and is bent on destroying he ever stood for and ever loved. He murdered Barry Allen's mother and framed his father for it and is responsible for numerous other tragedies in the boy's life. Thawne also has an interest in Superman and has longed for the opportunity to defeat him in a duel of speed. Unlike the Flash, Reverse-Flash gets his speed from the Negative Speed Force which he created. Gustin previously portrayed the Flash in the hit CW series of the same name.
