Super Mario x Spies in Disguise: The 3-Movie Event is an upcoming three-movie special event coming on April 3rd, 2026, celebrating the theatrical release of Nintendo + Illumination's official full length feature film The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Ben Mendelsohn's birthday, and the Super Mario Bros. 40th Anniversary celebration. During the event, three movies in a row would be released, those being Spies in Disguise 2: Killian's Revenge, The Video Game Corruption Chaos: A Super Mario Bros. Movie, and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. This event was initially teased when Spies in Disguise 2: Killian's Revenge was confirmed to be delayed on April 3rd, 2026, and with its announcement trailer that released on October 3rd, 2025, it was confirmed. It is considered to be the biggest event of the 2020s decade since Barbenheimer.

It's likely this was done to celebrate said day in a similar manner to how Jacknjellify handled Battle for Dream Island's 15th anniversary with The Shift, making this the biggest movie event of the 2020s decade since Barbenheimer.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is the only film of the three:
- To NOT be made by SlashcraftGaming, but rather an official studio instead, as it is being produced by Universal Pictures, Nintendo and Illumination, and is being directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic.
  - Despite this, this was promoted as part of the three-movie event anyways, due to its April 3, 2026 release.
- To have a full theatrical release worldwide.
- To release back-to-back with two fan made movies in a row.
- To not release on YouTube under any capacity aside from any trailers here and there, and to a lesser extent, available to purchase under the YouTube Movies & TV catalogue when it releases digitally or through Movies Anywhere.

- To have had a concerning production behind the scenes, since it was later revealed that a prior version of the film nearly got Slashcraft in trouble because of one polarizing addition to the movie that was later on scrapped entirely.
  - This controversial addition was first teased in the cutscenes of his Despairingly Malicious Edition BTNL, and in 2022, it was later confirmed.
- To have its runtime revealed to be longer than 2 hours.
- To be an installment of Slashcraft's shared universe known as The Awakening Saga.
