Splatterhouse is a horror-theme action-adventure video games developer and published by Namco Bandai Games and is the second reboot of the original two Splatterhouse games.

Act 1[]
On Halloween night 1988, college student Rick Taylor and his girlfriend, Jennifer Willis join up with their colleague in the remote West Mansion (for the rumors of hideous experiments purportedly conducted there by Dr. West, a renowned and missing parapsychologist) for a Halloween party before the storm can hit. But when one of Rick's colleagues read a passage from a book, everything turns dark, and Jennifer screams.
Rick awakens in a dungeon under the mansion that has been resurrected thanks to the influence of the "Terror Mask," an ancient sacrificial artifact from Dr. West's mansion which is capable of sentient thought. Rick put on the mask, which transformed him into a superhuman. With the mask's encouragement of saving Jennifer, Rick goes on a rampage through the dungeon and the catacombs, killing his way through hordes of monsters.
He finally makes his way into the mansion where he encounters the spirit of Dr. West where he explains to Rick what happened when someone read the passages was released and that Jennifer is the still alive in the mansion. He tells Rick that the mask can guide him to save Jennifer.
