Spider-Man: The Web-Swinging Years is an American animated superhero TV series, airing on Disney+.
Premise[]
The series follows Peter Parker throughout his high school life starting with both his freshman year and him getting bitten by a radioactive spider as he combats various threats and villains as Spider-Man.
Characters[]
Main[]
- Peter Parker / Spider-Man (voiced by Haley Joel Osment) - a teenager who got bitten by a radioactive spider as he deals with both high school life and several enemies.
Supporting[]
- Mary Jane Watson / White Tiger (voiced by Erica Lindbeck) - a popular, yet kind-hearted teenager at Midtown High who befriends Peter, developing a soft spot for him. She is initially unaware of his identity as Spider-Man (whom she is also fond of), until Peter reveals himself while having to save her and the tiger cub they were supposed to look after from Kraven the Hunter. She would soon grow closer to him, helping him wherever she is needed, while the two develop hidden feelings for each other, eventually becoming a couple in the end of the first season. Also in the end of the season, she is revealed to be White Tiger, a free-spirited superheroine with feline-based superhuman abilities. Second season reveals that Mary Jane earned her powers from a alien gemstone discovered by her parents years before their deaths, and has been White Tiger for the same period Peter has been Spider-Man. However, she has mostly kept her superhero alias in secret from the public until she was ready to reveal herself to Peter.
- Carlie Cooper (voiced by Alyson Stoner) - Peter's extremely geeky best friend who has always stuck by his back, and is the first to figure out he is Spider-Man. She also becomes close friends with Mary Jane.
- Aunt May (voiced by Jennifer Hale) - Peter's widowed aunt and sole guardian, she is supportive of Spider-Man's heroic ways, and often gives him advice of how to solve certain problems. May also hints awares of her nephew's connection with Spider-Man, and supports it out of belief that Peter is having justice for Uncle Ben. She is also an employee at F.E.A.S.T. along with Carlie's mother and Mary Jane's aunt Anna, whom she is friends with.
- Teresa Parker (voiced by Jessica McKenna) - Peter's long lost younger sister, who was born in secret after Peter's parents left him to Uncle Ben and Aunt May. After her parents' deaths, Teresa was raised by the Durand family until she learns of her brother's existence.
- Robbie Robertson (voiced by Billy Dee Williams) - a good-hearted chief editor of the Daily Bugle, who (unlike the more distrustful J. Jonah Jameson) has a positive view towards Spider-Man, and considers him a true hero in his right.
- Flash Thompson (voiced by Will Friedle) - a goofy yet sometimes idiotic student who is one of Peter's best friends although he is completely unaware of him being his hero, Spider-Man.
- Matt Murdock / Daredevil (voiced by [Roger Craig Smith, Brian Bloom, Troy Baker, or TBD]) - A blind pro-bono lawyer, with his remaining senses enhanced, who is secretly a fearless vigilante in red.
- The Fantastic Four, a crew of astronauts and outer space explorers who developed their powers following a freak accident in space. They soon became another team of the world's greatest heroes, with the purpose of protecting the innocents from random threats which come by and working to maintain peace with other worlds and keep their surrogate family together. They consist of:
- Reed Richards / Mister Fantastic (voiced by Chris Diamantopoulos) - The leader of the Fantastic Four who has the ability to stretch his body into different forms and lengths. He is one of Peter's idols and mentors.
- Susan Storm / Invisible Woman (voiced by Catherine Taber) - The second-in-command of the Fantastic Four and Richards's wife, who has the ability to create and manipulate light, allowing her to create protective force-fields and turn herself and other objects and people invisible. She acts as a mother-figure for Peter and Mary Jane.
- Johnny Storm / The Human Torch (voiced by Will Friedle) - The youngest member of the Fantastic Four and Susan's 25 year-old younger brother, who has the ability to mentally create and manipulate fire and fly.
- Ben Grimm / The Thing (voiced by Nolan North) - Richards's best friend and the "muscle man" of the Fantastic Four, whose body became stone while granting him superhuman strength and durability.
- Miles Morales (voiced by Bumper Robinson) - Peter's classmate and good friend, who idolizes Spider-Man and wishes to be like him. He is also good friends with Carlie, and has a mutual attraction for her.
- Liz Allan (voiced by Hynden Walch) - One of Peter's classmates and is extremely witty and sometimes cold and short-tempered. She is Flash's ex-girlfriend.
- Kenny "King Kong" McFarlane (voiced by TBD) - Liz's current boyfriend who TBD
- J. Jonah Jameson (voiced by John DiMaggio) - the head of the Daily Bugle who believes that Spider-Man is too inexperienced for heroics, although his beliefs sometimes anger others. Eventually, after Spider-Man saves Jameson's son John from Mysterio (whom Jameson ironically praised as a hero), Jameson eventually sees the error of his ways, and quits criticizing Spider-Man.
- Marc Spector / Steven Grant / Jake Lockely / Moon Knight / Mr. Knight (voiced by Matthew Mercer) - a British mercenary who after being betrayed by his former comrade, gains multiple personalities: the flamboyant American millionaire Steven Grant, the humble taxi driver Jake Lockely, a mysterious vigilante and avatar of Khoshnu Moon Knight and the calculating masked detective Mr. Knight as he occasionally meets and helps Spider-Man.
Antagonists[]
- Wilson Fisk / Kingpin (voiced by Clancy Brown) - the owner of Fisk Industries and New York's most ruthless crime-lord. Although he has conflicts with Spider-Man, Fisk is also rivals with Norman Osborn, and seeks to take over Oscorp by every means necessary.
- Patricia "Pat" Mason / Tinkerer (voiced by Laura Post) - An intelligent and cocky student who believes herself to be the greatest mind alive, becoming a terrorist known as the Tinkerer. She soon gets convinced by Kingpin to work for him.
- Norman Osborn / Green Goblin / Demogoblin (voiced by Gideon Emery) - The morally corrupt CEO of OsCorp who has a mental disease which is slowly turning him insane, turning him into a goblin-like monster who seeks to overthrow every metahuman to become "New York's true master". In Season 2, he makes a deal with a devil known as Demon to make him more powerful, turning into the demonic Demogoblin, but at the cost of his humanity.
- Dr. Miles Warren / Jackal (voiced by TBD) - A dangerous mad scientist who is loyal to OsBorn as he creates several experiments to help out Osborn. In the second season, he attempts to replicate Osborn's Goblin serrum, which mutates Warren into the villainous Jackal.
- The Sinister Six, a group of supervillains seeking to impose their will on New York City, and clash with both Spider-Man for standing on their way, and Green Goblin, whom they see as personal competition. They consist of:
- Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus (voiced by Yuri Lowenthal) - A former executive and head scientist of Oscorp who was presumed dead after one of Fisk's henchmen sabotaged an experiment in Octavius's lab which caused his harness with tentacle-like appendages to be permanently fused to his body.
- Max Dillon / Electro (voiced by Jason Spisak) - A shock jock who worked for the Daily Bugle until he was fired by J. Jonah Jameson for spreading lies about both himself and Spider-Man and accidentally got in the crossfire of an explosion of an OsCorp brand lightning generator, turning him into living lighting as he grows a massive grudge on both Spider-Man and Jameson.
- Sergei Kravenoff / Kraven the Hunter (voiced by Matthew Mercer) - A calm and menacing Hunter from Russia who has an obsession with hunting down prey, wielding various high tech weapons to do so.
- Adrian Toomes / Vulture (voiced by Mark Hamill) - A psychotic yet elderly terrorist who has stolen a high tech harness as he is obsessed with causing as much chaos and anarchy as he possibly can. He was also a former Midtown High School teacher whose work was savagely reviewed by J. Jonah Jameson.
- Herman Schultz / Shocker (voiced by Steve Blum) - Electro's stepbrother, and a pathetic mercenary who wields two gauntlets allowing him to control shockwaves as he tries to use it for crime.
- Quinton Beck / Mysterio (voiced by Troy Baker) - A manipulative former special effects artist who became a illusionist supervillain after obtaining a suit of Oscorp technology powered by a illusion-inducing gem of unknown source. He was first believed by J. Jonah Jameson to be a hero until Mysterio revealed his true colors by trying to kill John Jameson.
- Alister Smythe / Swarm (voiced by TBD) -
- Flint Marko / Sandman (voiced by Fred Tatasciore) - A construction worker who has transformed into living sand by an experimental particle accelerator. He is also Carlie's estranged stepfather, who wants to reunite with her.

- Morris Bench / Hydro Man (voiced by TBD) - TBD
- Andrea Gerard / Cyclone (voiced by TBD) - TBD
- TBD / Vermin (voiced by TBD)
Neutral[]
- Felicia Hardy / Black Cat (voiced by Mae Whitman) - Kingpin's adopted daughter who is forced to be a part of his mob, becoming fascinated with Spider-Man and occasionally helps him and sometimes faces him.
- TBD - Felicia's companion pet, and a female [which cat breed?] cat.
- Dr. Michael Morbius (voiced by TBD) - A scientist suffering from a rare blood disease whose attempts to cure himself afflicted him with a form of transgenic vampirism, gaining all of the superhuman abilities but none of the superstitious weaknesses associated with vampires.
- Eddie Brock / Venom (voiced by Zeno Robinson) - A former Daily Bugle journalist who was fired for attempting to rant against Carlton Drake and Life Foundation without sources or evidences, and is bonded to an alien symbiote which imbues him with superhuman abilities. He occasionally clashes with Spider-Man on his goals, but also works alongside him when necessary.
- Venom Symbiote (voiced by Keith Silverstein) - A alien symbiote of Klyntar who became an exile from his people, and currently is attached to Eddie's mind and body, as they both sympathize with each other as mutual outcasts.
- John Jameson / Man-Wolf (voiced by Kyle McCarley) - J. Jonah Jameson's dedicated-later-estranged son who, after surviving a murder attempt by Mysterio, gains a curse from his lunar stone, turning him into a pseudo-werewolf.
Differences[]
- Harry Osborn doesn't exist but Norman treats Peter like a son.
- Flint Marko is Carlie Cooper's stepfather.
- Kingpin is Black Cat's adopted father.
- Eddie Brock is African American, although he has a history similar to that of Tom Hardy's character in Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
