in 1982, Phoenix 2772 was dubbed for US release by Warner Bros. in association with The Ladd Company, the dub was spearheaded by Carl Andy and was fairly accurate to the original Japanese release, despite underperforming, the film would have a cult following among Anime and Sci-fi fans thanks to Home Video and HBO airings.
A video game for the Atari 2600 was released later that year.
