Sonic: Guardian of Mobius

Sonic: Guardian of Mobius is an American action-adventure comic book series serving as a reimagining of Sonic the Hedgehog by Sega, being published by IDW Publishing since April 14th, 2020.

Synopsis

Sonic the Hedgehog is an agent of Guardian Unit of Nations, also known as G.U.N., as he alongside his partner Amy Rose protect Mobius from several menaces, including the villainous Ivo Robotnik, also known as Dr. Eggman.

Characters

Main

• Sonic the Hedgehog - a calm and chill hedgehog who has superspeed and is an agent of G.U.N. and combats threats to the safety of Mobius.
• Amy Rose - Sonic's rather ditzy yet skilled partner who wields a massive hammer and shares the same ability of speed that Sonic has, even if she's prone to outbursts when her plans don't go as planned.
• Miles "Tails" Prower - an intelligent but antissocial fox who serves as Sonic's mechanic and hacker as he prefers to stay out of missions and behind a computer although he slowly loses his dislike of people thanks to Sonic's help, becoming nicer and friendlier.

Supporting

• The Chaotix, consisting of:
  • Knuckles the Echidna - a serious echidna who escaped from his tribe after he learned they were going to use the Master Emerald to destroy Mobius as he now serves as the leader of the detective agency, the Chaotix.
  • Vector the Crocodile - a calm and hip crocodile who loves listening to music and is the second in command of the Chaotix.
  • Espio the Chameleon - a serious chameleon who is a master at stealth and can easily take down threats silently.
  • Charmy Bee - an overenergetic bee who is Knuckles' adopted son as he looks up to the Chaotix and aids them in whatever way he can.
  • Tikal/Shade the Echidna - Pachatamak's rather TBD daughter who was brainwashed by him into commanding the Gizoids and echidnas before being freed by Sonic and the Chaotix, deciding to join the Chaotix to redeem herself for the chaos she caused.
• Cream the Rabbit - an extremely friendly and girly rabbit who is friends with Tails as she often visits him and tries to hang out with him, even if he sometimes ignores her and prefers to be alone, much to her chagrin, although he becomes friendlier to her later on.
  • Cheese the Chao - a chao who is Cream's pet.
• Shadow the Hedgehog - a rival agent to Sonic who is extremely egotistical and has the same amount of speed as Sonic and has a major ego problem.
  • Rouge the Bat - a seductive bat who is Shadow's partner and often clashes with Knuckles due to TBD.
  • E-123 Omega - the mechanic/hacker of Shadow's team who is a former Badnik made by Eggman and barely shows any emotions.
• Blaze the Cat - another rival agent to Sonic who is a little more calm than Shadow but can get extremely competitive, also being pyrokinetic.
  • Silver the Hedgehog - a TBD hedgehog who is Blaze's partner as he opts to be TBD.
  • Marine the Raccoon - the goofy mechanic/hacker of Blaze's team who actually sucks at tech stuff, although she's still trusted with it while befriending Cream and TBD.
• Big the Cat - a strange cat who prefers to be out of danger and loves to fish and just live a normal life without danger.
  • Froggy - an unevolved frog who is Big's pet.
• Vanilla the Rabbit - Cream's TBD mother who cares about her safety and is worried about her involvement with Tails since he is a fox and involved in computer hacking, even if Cream argues that she is old enough to take decisions by herself.
• Prof. Dillon Pickle - an absent-minded scientist who is a rather strange figure as he guards various scientific TBD.
• Chao - small creatures birthed by the water god Chaos who Mobians keep as pets.
• Spidebeetle - spider-beetle hybrid monsters who are tamed and are used as mounts by various Mobians.

Antagonists

• The Eggman Empire, consisting of:
  • Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik - the charismatic leader of the Eggman Empire who is obsessed with robotics and constantly events new forms of technology to take over Mobius with.
  • Orbot and Cubot - two incompetent robots who Eggman created just so he could have somebody to talk to.
  • Metal Sonic - a mechanic doppelgänger of Sonic who believes he is superior to Sonic and is extremely fast and powerful.
  • Tails Doll - a mute doppelgänger of Tails who is considered to be defunct by Eggman as he isn't that powerful compared to his other robots.
  • Metal Knuckles - a robotic doppelgänger of Knuckles who is a brute and is extremely strong and loyal to Eggman.
  • Jacques - a cold and flamboyant monkey who runs a group of cybernetically enhanced assassins working for Eggman.
  • Shard the Wolf - a sadistic wolf who is an enforcer of Eggman as he wields two electric blades.
• Pachacamac/Ix - the chieftain of Knuckles' former tribe who is mentally insane and leads an army of Gizoids to reform Mobius alongside his brainwashed daughter.
• The Baylon Rogues, consisting of:
  • Jet the Hawk - TBD
  • Wave the Swallow - TBD
  • Storm the Albatross - TBD
• Sylvia the Bison - a rude bison who leads a group of punks who just want to commit minor inconveniences and cause minor chaos.
• Sand Worms - gigantic worm-like monsters who only know one thing, to eat as they roam the deserts and assault anything.
• Gnashers - unevolved wolf monsters who are extremely monstrous and chew through various things including metal.

Issues

1. Speedy Mission - Sonic and Amy are sent to a Badnik factory to take it down from the inside and to halt Eggman's Badnik production.
3. Infected - Cream gets infected by a parasitic virus as Sonic and Amy must find a way to TBD.
5. The Zoo of Monsters - A mysterious businessman has opened a zoo filled with various monsters and creatures as Tails learn that the owner abuses the monsters as he tries to convince Sonic and Amy that something more sinister is at the works.
8. Amy Alone - Amy gets separated from Sonic as she deals with a group of assassins sent by Eggman to kill her.
12. Rage of the Wolf - Sonic and Amy are sent to stop an insane wolf who does favors for Eggman from launching a virus that will cyberize all of Mobius.

Trivia

• The series explains that most animals have evolved alongside humanity, creating the Mobians, while some animals never evolved, explaining stuff like Froggy.
