Slain is a 2023 american adult animated-horror comedy film directed by Raja Gosnell.
The movie spoofs Italian explotation horror films such as Cannibal Holocaust and Cannibal Ferox.
Synopsis[]
In the Amazon Jungle, a group of animals discovered that a crew of reporters are making a movie where the animals are the stars but Hoag the hedgehog who's part of the group discovers that the reporters actually plans to kill every animals in the jungle for the movie...
Cast[]
- Tobey Maguire as Hoag, a obese hedgehog who's jealous of Sonic and dreams to be as famous as him
- Jules de Jongh as Dawn, a female turtle who is Dieter's wife and Hoag's best friend/love interest
- Thomas Kretschmann as Dieter, a male turtle and Dawn's obnoxious and sexist husband
- Kretschmann also voices Dieter in German dub of the movie
- Will Smith and Chris Rock as Slap (Smith) and Slam (Rock), two monkeys obsessed with fighting each other and Hoag's best friends since childhood
- B.D. Wong as Seppuku, a japanese-american guide/poacher who's been hired to have a part in the movie
- Giancarlo Giannini as Ruggero Stupidocretino, the italian director of the film who wants to kill the animals for his film
- Giannini also voices his character in Italian dub of the movie

- The movie is inspired by horror films where animals were cruelly killed in horrendous ways such as Cannibal Holocaust,
- Coincidentially, Turtles (Dawn and Dieter) and Monkeys (Slap and Slam) were part of animals killed on the set of "Cannibal Holocaust" and Ruggero Stupidocretino is based on Cannibal Holocaust director Ruggero Deodato
- Slap and Slam are also based on their voice actors (Will Smith and Chris Rock) and Slap's name is a nod to Will Smith's slap to Chris Rock at 2022 Oscars.
