Skylanders Supernova is an American toys-for-life action-adventure video game developed by Beenox and published by Activision, being released for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X on October 12th, 2023, serving as a direct sequel to Skylanders: Imaginators.
Set after the events of Imaginators and Kaos' banishment, an unusual new threat arises to Skylands as the Skylanders plus the new type of Skylanders - the powerful being from the galaxy named Supernovas - must work together to face against him. During this however, they also HAVE to trap brand new villains that the threat unleashed from a new jail. Plus, four long-lost elements would be revived during this process.

Mesmerelda (voiced by Grey Griffin) - a flamboyant and arrogant spider-like puppeteer who was convinced by Eon to turn over a new leaf and become a puppeteer throughout all of Skylands as she becomes a Skylander although she still has moments of pride and ego, using puppets and bombs in order to attack.

Beat Booming Echo (voiced by Kimberly Brooks) - a music-loving and feisty siren dragon who is happy to protect Skylands from harm and dark, as she now has an ability to use music-esque water powers with her getting new ears plus armor. Wow-Pow Power: Let's Splash Some Music! - Echo now shoots out three waves that blast out music, as one hits, it explodes into a musical soundwave, damaging nearby enemies.
Chill Bill (voiced by Alex Ness) - a chill and snazzy troll who decided to switch for the good as he upgrades his freeze jetpack and now wields two freeze guns. It is hinted that he put Lob Goblin in charge of the radio.

Mecharoo (voiced by TBD) - a spunky yet intelligent and very heroic baby roo who - after the death of his mother from mysterious illness - built a robot kangaroo suit that can allow him to fight threats and also to remember his mother. He joins the Skylanders after he unknowingly impressed Buzz after fighting a group of evil elves.

Poison Shot Shroomboom (voiced by Matthew Moy) - a courageous and determined mushroom creature who has since gained an ability to unleash his hidden poison power, as his spots become purple to represent poison and his slingshot becomes purple after unlocking his Wow-Pow. Wow Pow Power: Poison Shrooms - Charing the mushrooms longer shoots a huge purple mushroom that summons poisonous clouds as it lands, it turns into three smaller mushrooms.

Blue Torch Sunburn (voiced by Troy Baker) - a prankster, yet heroic phoenix who finally gets his Series 2 release as when he gets to his Wow-Pow power, his wing becomes blue and his fire become blue - being powerful than ever. Wow Pow Power: Blue Flare - Sunburn can now use his flamethrower to turn it into a devastating explosion, sending homing fireballs. His fire attacks also turn blue and deal EVEN MORE maximum damage.

Snergy (voiced by TBD) - an energetic yet feisty dragon who is made out of full electric with the shell of dragon that can use his wings to shock people and charge his gizmos to help him, deciding to join Skylanders after impressing Buzz after defeating The Gulper.

Despite going back to the Trap Team roots, characters from Supercharge and Imaginators (only Senseis) can be playable in the game and makes sense too, since it is set after Imaginators.
The game resorted back into colored bases. In this game, the base is purple.
Due to the even darker atmosphere and aspects of the game, while the game retained its E10+ rating, this is the first Skylanders game to be rated PEGI 12.
