Search & Destroy is a 2020 American black comedy crime thriller film written and directed by Eric Heisserer. The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Aaron Paul and Peyton List, and also features J.K. Simmons, Ashley Tisdale and Frances Fisher in supporting roles. The film follows Ryan (Taylor-Johnson), a professional hitman who becomes attracted to Catherine (List), a young woman he is assigned to kill. Search & Destroy premiered at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival and was released by Neon in the United States on September 18, 2020. The film received widespread acclaim from critics for the performances of its cast, particularly Paul, as well as for Heiserrer's screenplay and directing. It was also a financial success, grossing $76 million worldwide from a $13 million budget.
Search & Destroy received two Academy Award nominations for Best Original Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor (Paul), as well as four nominations at the 78th Golden Globe Awards including Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.
