Synopsis[]

"In the late 2000s, awkward but music-obsessed teenager Elliot Reyes stumbles upon a mysterious prototype MP3 player at the flea market. Unlike any ordinary device, this one doesn't just play music - it alters emotions based on the song selected. At first, Elliot and his best friend use it for harmless fun - acing tests with concentration playlists, boosting their confidence at parties, even fixing fights between friends. But when Elliot uses it to impress his longtime crush, things spiral out of control. He starts relying on the MP3 player instead of being his authentic self, and soon, the entire school is unknowingly under its influence."

"As Elliot realizes that manufactured emotions aren't the same as real ones, he must choose between keeping the power or learning to face life's highs and lows without shortcuts. With the MP3 player falling into the wrong hands -specifically, overachiever Brandon Chase, who wants to use it in order to become class president - Elliot must decide the choice to either destroy the device or keep away the power before the entire town becomes emotionally programmed."

Plot[]

14-year-old teenager Elliot Reyes struggles to deal with the loss of his mother Isabella from terminal illness three months earlier. His father Daniel is struggling to reconnect with Elliot after his wife's passing while being overworked on his job. On his first day of high school, Elliot developed a crush on popular girl Sophie Patel, but tried to hide this fact from his childhood best friend Mia Tran while rivals with school bully Brandon Chase, and befriended his new classmates Ethan and Lily.

After school, Elliot heads to the flea market with Mia, after convincing him to join, where they meet a vendor named Raymond, who gave away the undeveloped yet functional MP3 player after his heartfelt speech to Elliot, who accepts the offer. While sitting alone in his usual spot at the skatepark and listening to sad music on his MP3 player, he looks over the distance at a person crying, to which stops after Elliot pauses the music, and runs off home.

At home, Elliot determined himself if the MP3 player has a supernatural ability, as Raymond informed him about its abilities earlier, but was unconfident to believe his claim at the time. The next morning, he brings the device to school while partnering with Mia for their presentation in history class. During recess while hanging out with his friends, the MP3 player has started to function by itself and Elliot quickly goes to the restroom to check on the device until Brandon and his gang enters the restroom just after pranking the school staff and Elliot eventually test out the device on one of the former's friends with a love-ballad song, which embarrasses Brandon and left the restroom afterwards, which proves that Raymond was right all along.
