Race With Me, Shane is an American slice-of-life sports comedy series created by Chris Prynoski. It is being developed by Disney Television Animation and has aired on Disney Channel since September 8th, 2022.
Synopsis[]
Ever since he was just a toddler, Shane Daniels has always dreamed of hitting the racetrack and being considered a part of the big leagues. Now, at 26 years old, he’s finally able to achieve his dream and assemble a pit crew of 9 determined ladies ready to help him out. Does Shane have what it takes to take home the gold?
Characters[]
Main[]
- Shane Daniels (voiced by Phillip Reich) - a friendly and outgoing, yet somewhat awkward young man who recently moved into a new neighborhood in order to obtain his dream job as a race car driver. He has been obsessed with cars ever since he was a toddler and is more than excited to get to race in one - even if he can sometimes get distracted by his surroundings
- Felisha Moore (voiced by Erin Fitzgerald) - a competitive and tomboyish yet kind-hearted young woman who’s the leader of Shane’s pit crew and has the most spirit out of all of them. Even though she can be a bit brash when it comes to sports, she’s also calm enough to never get egotistical and recognizes when she might be wrong about something.
- Ella Platinumstone (voiced by Jamie Marchi) - a snobby and vain, yet fun-loving young woman who can be a bit of a neat freak, always making sure both Shane and his car are in the best possible condition for races. Since she also used to be a diva, she still has the tendency to check herself out in the mirror from time to time and show off.
- Sunflower “Sunny” Hale (voiced by Sarah Wiedenheft) - a sweet and shy, yet agile and very unpredictable young woman who may seem sensitive and childish at a glance, but is fully capable of holding her own if no one else is around. She is also the fastest out of the pit crew members, sometimes being able to get things done by herself quicker than when everyone is helping together.
- Carla Winters (voiced by Jill Harris) - a kind and supportive young woman who, despite being considered “weak” during her elementary school days, has been able to prove herself as a capable inventor, always developing new upgrades for Shane’s vehicle in order to help him win races just a little bit easier. She also serves as Shane’s therapist from time to time, calming his anxieties.
- Michelle Adams (vocal effects and occasionally voiced by Alyson Stoner) - a mischievous and sometimes sinister, but selfless young woman who likes to pull harmless pranks on the rest of the pit crew - and sometimes Shane - but never in a way that would impact anything heavily. On the job, she can be quite tech-savvy, always handling simulators for Shane to practice on - though she does throw obstacles in there.
- Melissa Aday (voiced by Erika Harlacher) - a peppy, bubbly, and somewhat naive, but respectful young woman who is the rookie of the pit crew and incredibly excited to work with other people for her first time since high school. Due to this, she has the tendency to ask a lot of questions or lose track of what she’s doing, but she always manages to get herself together.
- Julianna Crowell (voiced by Nicole Sullivan) - a more reserved and gothic, but reliable young woman who loves spooky things and sometimes decorates Shane’s car with creepy decor - even if Halloween isn’t being celebrated - however Shane doesn’t mind it. Outside of the pit crew, she likes to secretly write in her diary and doesn’t like to tell anyone she adores the color pink too.
- Olive Rhodes (voiced by Christine Marie Cabanos) - an overly optimistic and outgoing, yet somewhat dumb young woman who serves as Shane’s cheerleader as she always wants to get him pumped up for what he has along the way, though she can go a bit overboard and make Shane feel uneasy. However, she never means any malicious intentions and knows to calm down whenever necessary.
- Sasha O'Brien (voiced by Colleen Clinkenbeard) - an aggressive and strong, yet friendly young woman who can sometimes get jealous of both Shane and Felisha, but secretly respects them both for the amount of work they put into their roles. Aside from racing, she also enjoys bodybuilding and football, as she is considered the muscle out of Shane’s pit crew.
