Production

Planning stages for the series started in 2011 when Mondo Media expressed interest in doing a series centered around the Face Paints, and also decided to make it a bit different from other shows by making it a little more friendly, while still keeping it adult-oriented, making it more like The Simpsons. Elisha Lake-Quinn, the creator of Ferryman and Animals in the Strange Land, while not a fan of adult animated shows with an exception of The Simpsons, vowed to create the series as long it is TV-PG/TV-14-ish.
