Plot[]

Loud music can be heard from the Skylander Home, as Stealth Elf and Eruptor rock out to tunes on a jukebox. The elf is eager enough to do an air guitar solo, and Eruptor joins in lighting up his hands as pretend pyrotechnics. The spotlights from Eruptor, however, causes the then-arriving Scratch to instinctively chase after them on the floor, ceiling and walls until she crashes onto the couch. This makes the elf and lava monster stop the music as Eruptor embarrassedly recalls that cats can't resist lights that are like laser dots, softly banging his head with his hand to remind himself that he should've known better than to move his lights all over the place whenever Scratch is around. Sonic then arrives and helps Scratch out of her predicament while calming the embarrassed lava monster down by starting a conversation about their upcoming mission at the Skylands Music Festival that is hosted by Spyro this year and how they are all eager for it, until Jet-Vac walks into the room wearing a red pirate bandana. He announces their mission briefing as the intel that Spyro secretly gathered while preparing for the festival had concluded the possibility that Wolfgang would infiltrate the festival to enact an evil plan and they have to sneak into the crowd, and for that, the Sky Baron planned gestures to dance to the rock music as well. The younger Skylanders immediately express concern over his exaggerated moves, but before they can do anything about it, Jet-Vac pulls a muscle and becomes stuck in place.

Continuity[]

  • Pop Fizz is revealed to have been a musician before becoming a Skylander after his bandmate Wolfgang turned to darkness out of greed for the spotlight.
  • Feathercats are revealed to instinctively chase after lights that are like laser pointers, much like normal house cats. This was shown when Scratch chased after Eruptor's fake pyrotechnic lights that shone on the floor, walls and ceiling before she crashed onto the couch.
  • Echo is revealed to do a side-gig as a street singer to gain money.
    • As a result of helping the Skylanders defeat Wolfgang, Echo is allowed to perform music for the academy by Eon.

Trivia[]

  • Pop Fizz uses a weapon instrument similar to Big Bubble Pop Fizz's tuba.
  • At one point in the episode, Pop Fizz said he was friends with the Bowling Scones and Jimi Matrix. These are parody names of the Rolling Stones and Jimi Hendrix. He even hints the fact as he can't say the bands' names are under the parody.
  • The episode title is a reference to the candy of the same name.
  • When Eruptor lights up his hands to make pretend pyrotechnics, Scratch instinctively chases after the spotlights on the walls, ceiling and floor. This is a reference to how cats will instinctively chase after laser pointer lights and try to catch them. Eruptor himself notes this with embarrassment after the feathercat crashes herself onto the couch, effectively breaking the fourth wall.
    • While Eruptor does so, he says Clawhauser's quote from Zootopia 2, where the cheetah did something similar with parking lights while dancing to music and unknowingly making a pair of cat drivers crash into a snow drift; "Ahh! Cats and lights! I know better!"
    • Ironically, Beatriz did a voice role in the aforementioned film.
  • A running gag throughout this episode is Master Eon declaring which foods are unsafe to eat, and Hugo running to throw up due to having consumed each food item, except for the pretzels that were made by Bad Breath, as Hugo didn't eat those.
  • Unlike canon, Spyro is the host for the festival so he did not need a ticket to get in.
    • Additionally, Sonic and Scratch were made security guards at Spyro's request so they could act as spies in order to find the enemy for the mission.
  • Echo being a street-singer as well as her being voiced by singer-songwriter Kesha Serbert (known mononymously as Kesha) is a reference to how her game counterpart is a music lover. As such, she and Spyro fight alongside Pop Fizz when Wolfgang performs his music.
    • The song Echo sings in during the festival is 'This is Me' which was used in the Reimagined version of The Greatest Showman, which was sung by Kesha herself.
