Pokémon the Series: Sand and Gust a new alternate season of Pokémon the Series anime and is a four-season series.

In this series, Ash Ketchum travels through the Carios region in an effort to compete in the Carios Pokémon League

The series focuses the main protagonist Ash Ketchum, his Pikachu and his travel companions Serena, Brock, Natalie, Meri, Blitz and Bimbi begin their new adventures in the arid Carios Region. Before his departure, Serena and Brock rejoin him.

Team Rocket; Jessie, James, Meowth, Cassidy, Butch and Purrlion still follow the protagonists heel in their efforts in catching Pikachu and later oppose Team Badlands and later the sinister Team Rebirth.

The carios league consists of 8 out of 10 accessible gyms.

  1. Cleo: Enza Town Gym Leader. Fairy
  2. Sakrahian: The Vagabond of Tombs. Sakrahian is the first gym leader our protagonists will encounter in their journey of unraveling the secrets of Carios region. He's a dessert vagabond and usually scouts different and undiscovered tombs inside his city. Specialty: Rock type. Gym Badge: Tabled Badge
  3. Shalika: The girl who's never been kissed by the sun. Ghost. Mummy Badge Shalika, being a well known fashion police in the Carios region, happens to be a gym leader as well. She works as a mortician, and have her own catacombs of Yamask, where the dead people that she encounters.. are all turned to Yamask for her gym challenge.
  4. Alex: The Oasis Prince. Alex is a resort manager of the Andria City. His resort resembles an Oasis and so is his gym. He uses both water and grass type Pokémon in a double battle. Grass/Water. Oasis Badge
  5. Fortune: The future's gypsy: Psychic. Seer Badge. She describes herself as a gypsy and works as the city's Fortune teller.
  6. Ramil : The time-tested traveler: Ground. Time Tested Badge. Ramil has his gym in the middle of the dessert of Carios. He is very strict especially on time management
  7. Banub: Two sides of a priest. Dark types. Shadows Badge. Banub is the high priest of all Cairos region. He and his family have worshipped Setheaval for generations and ornated himself and the gym in dedication with the Legendary Pokemon's image. He is part of the Black Lands along with his sister Amunet
  8. Rafrit: Cursed by the Blind Flame. Fire Badge. Being one of the few trainers who attempted to unlock the secrets of Setheaval and Horcon, he was blinded by the curse and was assigned as gym leader as a responsibility and punishment for his arrogant actions. He skillfully commands his pokemon without ever seeing them battle.
  9. Titania: The Jewel of the Shining sands: Steel Badge. A fashion designer in Steel-like jewelry and a descendant of the Carios royal family.
  10. Seth: Shard of Thunder.

Team Badlands[]

Another villainous Team that lives within the Carios Region. They are composed of thugs, raiders and outcasts. Like Team Skull, Badlands cause trouble across the region, threatening people, stealing Pokémon and acquire money and valuable goods to support themselves. The group is so ruthless, no one dares try to cross them or they'd be dire consequences. They don't take kindly to "outsiders" who are nomads from other regions.
