Phil Hartman (September 24, 1948-May 28, 1998) was an Canadian-American actor, comedian, and voice actor known for his various SNL roles from 1986 to 1994 and as the voice of Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz on The Simpsons.


Hartman was born on September 24, 1948 in Brantford, Ontario. 10 years later, he moved to the USA to pursue his acting career.


Phil was shot to death by his wife Brynn while he was sleeping at 3:00am on the morning of May 28, 1998. Brynn then shot herself.
