Phantom Investigators: The Movie is a 2025 American computer-animated science fantasy action comedy film written and directed by Mae Whitman and produced by Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The film is based on the 2023 animated series and stars Whitman, Noah Jupe, Jack Dylan Grazer, Yara Shahidi, Rosalie Chiang, Idris Elba, Giancarlo Esposito, Oscar Isaac, David Tennant, Tom Kenny, Nolan North, Jensen Ackles, Woody Norman, Eva Whittaker, Michael B. Jordan, Clancy Brown, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Tara Strong, Josh Lawson. The film serves as the series finale as multiple characters join forces against Mul'gan to save Earth. The film received universal acclaim from critics for its animation, story, visuals, humor, tone, emotional weight, voice acting, action sequences and musical score. The film was released on April 4, 2025 to commercial success at the box office grossing $700 million on a production budget of $120 million. The film was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Plot[]
Following his two failed attempts at conquering Earth, Mul'gan and his armies continue conquering other worlds. The Phantom Investigators and other characters devise a plan to defeat Mul'gan by taking his war to Krovakus while the Sprite Team on Earth to defend it. Unbeknownst to them, Mul'gan spies on the team through Sprenk, now knowing their plan.
