Penguins of Madagascar 3: Cape Crusaders is a is a 2014 American 3D computer-animated sequel,[10] produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures. It is a spin-off of the Madagascar film series, and takes place right after the events of Penguins of Madagascar 2: Space Birds, following the penguins Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private in a new adventure.
Plot[]
In Fort Knox, Private is celebrating his twelfth birthday with Skipper, Kowalski and Rico. they soon discovers an orange toy ring in the Cheezy Dibble vending machine, meaning that they now have all of the five toy rings of Inspiron. Kowalski then gives him a birthday present, issue 1 of the Superguy and Wonderwolf comic books. the North Wind agents arrive and the birthday party begins with a treasure hunt. As the penguins hunt for the treasure they discover the area where the real rings of Inspiron crashed in 1985. The rings bond with the penguins and the Penguins wear them. Skipper reads the comic book to King Julien XIII which explains the story of Commander Crook, Captain Megarainbow, how he turned into a wolf on Earth and how the rings ended up on Earth. Rumour has it that the person who made the comic books based them on a real life event.
The Penguins then begin noticing that the rings have given them powers; Skipper has Super strength, Private has super speed, Rico has super elasticity and Kowalski has invisibility. The penguins, which Private dubbed "Super penguins", decided to use these new powers to help Fernfield and start by saving an ungrateful cat from a tree, but accidentally damaging a police car. Lou and Wonderwolf detect that the rings have been activated but believe it's a false alarm and need to double check it. Crook and his assistant, Tobious, also detect the signal coming from Earth and prepare to head there. At night, the penguins discover the candy store is being robbed by two robbers and use their powers to stop the criminals before the police arrive and arrests them. A news crew arrives but don't believe what the owner says about the five "super penguins" while one of the officers decided to take as much candy as possible. Lou realises this isn't a false alarm and that the signal is coming from Fort Knox so Wolf heads out to get them.
The next day, a building is on fire and a little girl is trapped inside. The penguins go in to save her but Wonderwolf comes in and rescues them. He then explains that these rings and the events in the comics are all real. Unfortunately, he cannot take the rings as they have already bonded with the penguins so he begins to train them how to protect themselves and each other. Crook lands in the circus and takes the shape of Julien's sidekick, Mort, mistaking it for a gremlin. The "mouse lemur" steals a car and causes mayhem in town but the police defeats him and takes him to jail. the North Wind discover the spaceship and see the penguins on the news, realising that the comics are real. They rush to find the penguins, but Crook escapes and swaps bodies with Agent Classified and he takes the team members hostage, demanding to know where the penguins are.
Back at circus, Tobious decides to go out exploring while the super penguins face Crook. Julien and his advisor, Maurice, who are locked in the train, look through the comics looking for a solution to this crisis. Working together, the penguins defeat Crook however he soon begins to get the upper hand and kills Wonderwolf. He gives an ultimatum to the penguins; surrender the rings or die. Crook then causes a meteor to head for Earth and the North Wind tries to stop it. Julien hands over the plastic toy rings and Crook flies of in his warship. Tobious decided to betray his evil master but the meteor is already to close to Earth. Upon realising the rings are fake, Crook crashes into the meteor and dies in the explosion. Lou reveals that using the full power of the rings captain Canine can be revived and the penguins manage to heal him. With Crook gone, Wonderwolf changes back to his original form, Megarainbow. A ship from Inspiron, which detected the rings activation and went out to find it, arrives with the princess of Inspiron aboard, who can finally marry Megarainbow after so long. They congratulate everyone on their success and takes the rings back to Inspiron with them.
The next day, outside the town hall, the Mayor announces his new comic book series to a crowd which he calls "Super Penguins" and his new partner, Lou. He reads the comic out loud to the audience. The film ends with a picture, from one of the new comics, of the Super penguins standing on a building, ready for action.
