New updated logo with Rufus, Tuffy and Gilligan in March 2024.
Pawpet World is an original YouTube web series created by Angel Muñoz of his own YouTube channel, Pawpet Associates. Originated as "Saturday Morning Pawpets" during development in 2018, it is a slice of life comedy puppet series about Rufus and his friends going on many different adventures in their daily lives. It sets in a world inhabited by people and puppets (similar to The Muppets and Sesame Street).
Premise of the show[]
The premise follows the daily lives of a three trio, comprised of Rufus Mongrel, Tuffy Kitten (along with his pet mouse, Pipsqueak) and Gilligan Gorilla. Other characters including Penny, Hannah, Sophie, Pigtail Patty, Mel, Carlo, and of course their cranky ring-tailed neighbor, Roscoe Raccoon. It takes place in a fictionalized town of Detroit (nicknamed Diesel City as opposed to Motor City), Michigan.
Diesel City is portrayed as the largest U.S. city on the Canadian border. Detroit's culture is marked with diversity, having both local and international influences. Much like it, the city gave rise to the music genres of Motown and techno, and also played an important role in the development of jazz, hip-hop, rock, and punk. Other music styles include country, pop, funk, R&B and latin.
Cast of Characters[]
Rufus, Tuffy and Gilligan are the focus of the series. Tuffy has his pet mouse Pipsqueak, while Rufus has his family, including his young brother Ralphie, his youngest brother and sister Rusty and Rachel, and their parents Ray and Rosalind. Rufus' friends from Wisdom Inspirational High School include as frequent supporting characters.
Main Characters[]
- Rufus Mongrel — Rufus is a loyal, determined and compassionate brown dog. He is a smart and optimistic leader, and would do anything for his nearest and dearest friends and family. He even considers his friends as his own family and he tries his best to keep them together at all times. But despite his emotions, he tries his very best not to show them to his friends, so he can seem brave and courageous, but he's not afraid to confront or comfort his friends with utmost care. He also serves as the breakout student of his school, showing that he is the teacher's pet. His alternative identity is Detective Mongrel.
- Penny Poodlepuff — She is a sweet, brave, spunky and fun-loving girl poodle with a strong sense of justice. She is fiercely loyal to her friends. When the Rufus are ready to give up, she volunteers to help out. She is also somewhat reckless too despite her intelligence. She cares about her friends and family, or what's left of it, above all else.
- Gilligan Gorilla — Gilligan is a gorilla who's clueless, clumsy, and slow-witted, but is smart, good-natured, friendly, has a heart of gold and gets along with nearly everyone. He often clueless or interprets things too literally. He also clumsily gets into trouble, and his gullibility and playfulness can be a source of annoyance as he's a bit of a slacker, but he happily supports his friend every step of the way and has much better luck due to his strong willpower and positive nature. He loves to eat bananas, which are often his main motivation for solving problems. Gilligan is also a good juggler, unicyclist, surfer and skateboarder on trees, singer and friend.
- Tuffy Kitten — Tuffy is a childish, joyful, and hyperactive cat who lives with his friend Rufus at the Mongrel household. Tuffy is very good-natured and loves to hang out with his friends. As a youthful kitten (he is the youngest of his family), he was left behind by his family during the migration from a bad rainstorm. At it got dried up, he met Rufus as he take care of his lost friend until his family returns. His inclusion to Rufus' life, the family, and the gang shaped his life for years ahead, becoming more considerate and thoughtful of others.
- Hannah Liebermonster — Hannah is an extremely energetic, talkative, and snarky pink monster. She has a rather immature sense of humor and has the tendency to purposely annoy those around her as a means to amuse herself. This is seen through her friendships with Rufus and Gilligan, as the two (with the latter) are known to give each other purile, condescending nicknames. In truth, she is sensitive, vulnerable, and is very forgiving beneath her rough exterior, wanting nothing more than to be accepted by her friends. She also has a very good singing voice. Her kindness would go long ways, and is often evidently reluctant to hold grudges. Her alternative identity is a superhero named Marvelous Monster. Aside from her boyfriend, Howard, her closest friends are Mabel, Camila, Mully, Tizz, Sweetsie and Dina.
- Roscoe Raccoon — Roscoe is a crude, cynical, misanthropic, and cranky raccoon who lives in a garbage can near Rufus' house. He is a deadpan snarker who possesses a razor-sharp wit, having a pitch-black sense of humor rooted in other people's misfortune. He is incredibly crass, but at least he doesn't waste time with pretences as is more emotionally mature and competent. He was genuinely hurt when his father didn't get to come back from the war. Despite his grumpy, rude and selfishness, he is a valued friend to the others, as he does have a soft side, as it was heavily influenced by the love of his life, Gretchen Roth.
- Sophie Lopper — Sophie is a friendly and empathetic girly-girl rabbit who has a sense of justice, but gets frustrated when in desperate and hard situations. It isn't easy for a young girl, but luckily she has her best pals to confide in. She would save herself perilous situations, and never fails to make new friends no matter what. As she is smart for her own good, this determined little bunny has an awesome sense of knowledge. Unfortunately, she knew that not all humans, monsters and animals are as friendly as others. And whether she's saving the day or saving her own skin, life is never dull for her.
- Pigtail Patty Porklette — Patty is a brave, reliable, strong, and hard-working young pig that speaks with a thick Southern American drawl from the Ozarks of Oklahoma although headstrong about doing things on her own. She won her honor without much fanfare as she competed in the Miss Cimmaron County pageant and goes back to her farm. Despite her disdain for things that are "girly" and "fancy," she enjoys wearing a dress. She is very caring towards her friends, especially to Gilligan (whom she harbors romantic feelings for), Rufus and Tuffy (whom have a sibling-like relationship with her). Her alternative identity is Oklahoma Pork (a genderbent parody of Indiana Jones).
Supporting Characters[]
- Rusty Mongrel — Rufus' little youngest brother. Like all kids, especially his puppy siblings, Rusty takes things literally. And more often than not, he is really gullible.
- Pipsqueak Mouse — Tuffy's cute little mouse friend who seeks to have fun no matter what. He is cute and sweet, and his sense of fun is silly and mischievous, but this seems to have a limit as he regrets having set up. Although he is sometimes seen being chased by Tuffy, he takes the opportunity to get himself out when he has the advantage of the situation. He is quite clever to not fall for people’s tricks and has quite often outsmart them. He is also smart as he doesn't fall for the traps and understands Tuffy and humans. Through their chasing and their fights, they really are good friends.
- Wilson Weasel — Wilson is a suave, cool, and narcissistic black-footed weasel. He manages to remain calm and unbothered. Due to this characterization, he is seen sporting a pair of shades, or engaging in activities like playing the saxophone or scat-singing like Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin.
- Chef Pizzoli — A human chef and pizza maker from Naples, Italy who owns his own Italian restaurant. He also speaks with a strong native Italian accent. He's a specialist utterly devoted to his job, and he cares most about his customers, family, and top-tier quality of cuisine he creates.
- Logan Carcajou — A dark, skrunkly wolverine with a scruffy, croaky voice. Although still fierce and mischievous, he is reasonably well-behaved.
- Rodrigo Gatito — Roscoe's roommate from Mexico. He is kind and loyal, and is always willing to help out anyone in need and likes to do so. He sometimes can be lazy, mainly about him napping, eating, and more. He is also shown to be a very skilled and talented dancer.
- Howard Furowitz — Howard is a soft-spoken, considerate, exuberant, dedicated, coral orange monster with horns. Like Scooter (who is the character was based on), he is an assistant to Rufus, with the two becoming close friends. Eventually, his job was often closer to that of a stage manager or a subordinate producer, and he would do whatever he could to help to (albeit unsuccessfully) keep order (he emphasizes whatever he says by swinging his fist). He also has a relationship with Hannah, being her boyfriend.
- Mabel Fearwood — A shy and good-hearted female monster who's Hannah's closest friend. Mabel is Gaelic, in addition to her green hair and mint colored fur. She has always been insecure about certain things.
- Camila Furnandez — A feisty, friendly, flirtatious and fun-loving light pink female monster from Wubbalajara (a monster equivalent of Guadalajara). She's another one of Hannah's closest friends and she also happens to have a lot of jobs.
- Brutus Chomper — He is known for his role as the jovial but bumbling bodyguard. He is caring, fierce (when he needs to be), and dopey, at times, but his heart is always in the right place. He seems to be more content with life and just doing his job.
- Dusk "Scarface" Grimston — Despite her gothic, grungy, dark look, she's a chill girl with an upbeat and confident attitude. She ultimately has a sense of maturity and responsibility. She probably is an "Astrology Girl," as her sign is Libra.
- Gretchen Roth — A beautiful arctic fox from Germany with an accent to match. She only has eyes for him and would do anything for his sake. She proves to be brave, quick-witted, and intuitive; she knowingly puts herself at risk. Despite the danger, she maintains a calm composure and exhibits great skill. While she maintains a calm, bright-eyed, curious demeanor, for the most part, she would feel insecure from the dangers of world. She was an orphan after getting separated from her parents due to an earthquake. She traveled from German to America where she can have a home of her own. She met Roscoe during her search for a place to visit. She has a passion for acting, as she dresses up in outfits to roleplaying and acting in plays. Her alternative identity is Gretchen the Barbarian.
- Grit Gobblestone — A goofy and weird, but nice and friendly orange monster with a high, dopey voice who likes to juggle and eat. He's quite messy, but even more messy when eats anything he sees, but thankfully not anyone.
- Glork — A silly, eccentric round blue monster who's the honorable school president. His voice resembles that of Ed Wynn's (Similar to the Mad Hatter, Mayor McCheese and King Candy).
- Harriet O' Potamusini — A self-centered, fashion-obsessed female hippopotamus talks in a valley girl-accent. Harriet likes to eat watermelons and does the big yawn hippos do. She also likes listening to Gwen Stefani, Ke$ha, Shawn Mendes, and Britney Spears.
- Rita Rhinocerabellum — A laid-back, yet fun loving, yet chaotically fierce female rhinoceros who also talks in a valley girl-accent. Rita charges like rhinoceros often do.
- Melissa Mastadon — She is a shy but cheerful and kind-hearted female elephant that also talks in a valley girl-accent. Like elephants, she uses her trunk for anything, even as an instrument. She likes to eat apples, peanut butter, and jackfruit. She also has a thing for Zac Efron.
- Jazmine Jaguarinez — A young female jaguar from Colombia.
- Sugar Pie — Pigtail Patty's sheepdog pal.
- Lars — He is a cool, hip, laid-back humanoid. He is an activist as well as a musician.
- Mel Fracklemore — Mel is a crazy, egocentric, cheerful and energetic yet cheerful and big-hearted fox frackle. A polar opposite from his orange brother, he takes pride in himself and enjoys everything silly, painful, fun and hair-brained that he does. Mel would be paired with his friend Tuffy, who claims they first met in Spring Break, when Mel fell onto him when he jumped off of a building for his freedom.
- Gavin — Mel's scatterbrained and insecure but lively and sweet tall brother, since both are a part of the Frackle family.
- Rosalind Mongrel — Being the only other mature person in the family, she, along with Ray, is very competent as a caretaker. She cares very deeply for her family, so much that she would do anything to express her love for them. Like her husband, she is also very protective of her family. She is kindhearted, calm, patient and docile as she puts up with a lot of nonsense and is very forgiving considering everything. She is 32 years old, and has birthing hips that leads to her wide behind, obviously putting on pants that takes a bit longer for her. She is also shown to have quite a short temper, especially since Rosa probably uses sandals to discipline her kids (which she learned from Valeria). When she was in her teens, Raymond and Rosa met at a Sundance Arcade, then Ray manages to rescue her from getting run over by a truck. Rosa likes "Beach Party" films and is also a gymnast.
- Ruthie Mongrel — She's a kindly, generous, motherly figure toward her daughter, nephew and her friends. She speaks in a Midwestern accent. She’s a bit younger than Raymond is and was slender, though slightly chubby back then. But being a foodie, and of course having pups blew her up, giving her a gigantic rump. She’s known to how prone she is to flatulence, as Alpo gives her gas, so she prefers to eat Purina. She has had four husbands. One of them is a golden retriever named George Gould, which is why she gave birth to Rouge, and Yappy to a lesser extent. Despite that, Ruth had to raise Raymond, because their parents always had to work.
- Raymond Mongrel — As the partriarch of the family, Ray is the mature everyman. He loves his wife and kids, especially he spend so much time with his family. He has a habit of making "dad jokes," but they were not as bad as Joe's jokes. He has a habit of using "Gosh-doggit." Ray is rather goofy but is actually very clever and competent. He seems to be on the quirky side of things. Despite that, he is fatherly, caring, well-meaning and good natured. Ray was part of a band called "The Junkyard Jammers." He was also a landscaper before moving to the K9 unit.
- Rachel Mongrel —
- Ralphie Mongrel —
- Jada —
- Crystal — Jada's old sister.
- Rouge Mongrel — Rufus' cousin. Her fur was blonde because of the retriever, George Gould. Her outfit consists of a green sweater and blue jeans as an excuse for the '90s aesthetic.
- Tanner Kitten — Tuffy's warm-hearted, insecure, shy and friendly cousin who has a crush on Rufus' mom (or aunt).
- Tawny Kitten — Tuffy's cousin. She is a gymnast, hence the neon colored '80s outfit, consisting of her purple leotard and leg and wrist warmers.
- Hungry Horace — A purple monster with not just an insatiable appetite, but he also finds it important to help people out and to feel loved by others.
- Joe Liebermonster — Hannah's entertaining and slow-witted, but loving father who is a stand-up comic with a mission in life. He tells bad jokes, including "dad jokes" in front of his wife and children, usually punctuated with his catchphrase, "Wubba woogy woo!". He is pretty confident as he never gives up on what he loves to do. Most of his monologues relied on gimmicks. Whenever he's not a comedian, his second occupation is a dentist.
- Radasha Liebermonster — Hannah's mother. She was chubby when she was a kid. But thanks to her husband, she lost her weight, with the only bit of extra weight had kept on her child-bearing hips, like with Rosalind.
- Linton Liebermonster — Hannah's smart, creative, very impressionable yet somewhat shy little brother. When Linton was born, his blanket originally belonged to Hannah. He keeps his blanket with him 'cause it gives him comfort.
- Thelma Liebermonster — Hannah's smart, kind-hearted, and high spirited little sister, as her educated wit is often contrasted by an innocent demeanor. She is far from prissy and is generally tolerant. Thelma has an IQ of 197, which is why she wins the Nobel Prize of Science.
- Carlo DeVermino — He is a witty, sarcastic, narcissistic, impatient, greedy, selfish, and cynical streetwise rat. He usually works for his own interests, sometimes even neglecting Gilligan or fellow Pawpets in the process. He is often seen bossing around or making them do all the work. His outspoken nature often lands him in trouble, especially moreso than the other characters. He greatly enjoys his celebrity status, and attributes his fame to his "charisma", "smarts" and "humility". He prefers to be the center of attention, he gets annoyed when he is upstaged by Tuffy or when people are more interested in something else than him. He was also seen to be very jealous of Tuffy, as he's always trying to upstage or get rid of his competition in order to get the fame and glory all to himself.

She happens to be friends with Ms. Densfoam and Tuffy. With the latter, he was smitten and had fallen love with her, but later, both him and Miriam were close friends at heart (similar to Bart and Edna Krabappel).
- Mr. Slimerstone — He is a slug-like monster with glasses and a tie who teaches Algebra 1 class.

Parody Characters[]
Sunflower Strip[]
- Bailey Bird — A character parody of Big Bird. Unlike Big Bird, he didn’t start out as a goofy, dumb, and clumsy adult.
- Maccie Monster (Arnold) — A character parody of Cookie Monster.
- Vern — A character parody of Bert. Like Bert, Verne not only likes pigeons and paperclips, but he also has a fondness for smaller things. However, he has a fondness for grits, buttons, rocks, and stamps.
- Eddie — A character parody of Ernie. Like Ernie, he has his own Rubber Duckie.
- Cody — A character parody of Grover. Like Grover, Cody has a wide range of skills that he uses in various jobs, most notably as a waiter at a Restaurant. - Bradbury "Bronty" Brontosophagus — A character parody of Mr. Snuffleupagus. Like with Big Bird and Snuffy, Bailey Bird would only see Bronty because he would always leave while Bailey went to get the others, leading everyone else to believe he was simply an imaginary friend, but after five years, Bailey finally succeeded in revealing Bronty to his friends. Unlike that situation on Sesame Street, the main adult characters teased Big Bird when he said he had seen him, because they did not believe there was such an animal, often despite evidence to the contrary. This was meant to echo the imaginary friends some young children have.
