Oh, No! The Laughing Salesman is a theme song recorded for the English dub of The Laughing Salesman. This song was recorded in 1997, but was then rerecorded for airing on Jetix Europe. This song was performed by Michael E. Rodgers. This song was controversial due to its dark lyrics and the frightened, high-pitched tone of Michael's voice. A tamer, rerecorded version was made for later airings of The Laughing Salesman.
Lyrics[]
It was a dark and stormy night
I was standing there
Feeling worried about monsters and ghosts
But, there is something even scarier
That is coming to get me
I can hear a laugh
A menacing, distorted laugh
I can see a face of a madman
Who is in disguise of a salesman
Who wants my attention
Or else he'll haunt me to death
This scared me out of my wits
I might've lost my %&#%
And I've might've fainted
Where a grave is near me
And when I wake up
I can't believe my eyes
Oh no, it's the laughing salesman
He has come to haunt me forever
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!
Trivia[]
This is the only theme song performed by Michael E. Rodgers that has profanity. The profanity was removed when it was rerecorded.
This song was rerecorded when it aired on Jetix Europe. In this version, the lines "Or else he'll haunt me to death" , "I might've lost my %&#%", and "Where a grave is near me" was removed and replaced with "Or else he'll make me faint" , "I might've wet my pants", and "Where that salesman is near me". This version had a more lighter and softer tone and Michael's voice had a more cartoonish frightened tone. Michael's scream at the end was also rerecorded and toned down due to it sounding too realistic.
