Nut’s Big Movie 2 is a 2024 animated adventure-comedy film directed by Amir Brown and Noah Brown, co-directed by RÆ Tomlon Tealer, and written by Roblox Great, Ethan Chiopick, and Danny Thicco, produced by Evan Caldwell. It is the sequel to Nut’s Big Movie, the second installment in the Nut’s Big Movie franchise, and the twenty-second feature film in the Lukie Driscoll Roblox Universe. The main cast reprise their roles from the first film including Amir Brown, Alexander Dennis, super sonic 9000, Noah Brown, Evan Caldwell, Ethan Chiopick, Diamond Peanut, Albert Aretz, and Lukie Driscoll, alongside new voice cast members including Grey DeLisle, Kellie Whisler, Kaley Cuoco, Nissae Isen, and Just Susie.

Nut’s Big Movie 2 was premiered on July 11, 2024 in Hong Kong, and was theatrically released in the United States on July 12, by Universal Pictures. and in China on October 23, 2024. The film received positive reviews from critics and grossed $647 million worldwide against its production budget of $85 million. A sequel, Nut’s Big Movie 3, was released on November 7, 2025.

When Anhleo's gang sends the UTTP to Amir’s house, his friends must find a way to stop the UTTP from destroying him with the help of some new friends.

Plans for a Nut's Big Movie sequel began in 2021. Amir and Noah Brown returned to direct the film.

Nut’s Big Movie 2 received widespread critical acclaim, becoming a hit among critics upon release. On the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 85% based on 169 reviews, with an average rating of 6.9/10. The site's critical consensus reads, " Nut’s Big Movie 2 distills the enduring appeal of its colorful characters into a charmingly light-hearted adventure whose wacky humor fuels its infectious fun -- and belies a surprising level of intelligence. " On Metacritic, it received a score of 61 out of 100, based on 43 critics, indicating "generally favorable reviews".

Nut’s Big Movie 2 opened in 3,993 North American theaters on its opening weekend, grossing $67.8 million on its first day (Friday, July 12, 2024), which was the biggest Friday opening day in July. During its opening weekend, Nut’s Big Movie 2 earned $139.5 million from 3,993 theaters. This film opened at #1 at the box office on its opening weekend behind Despicable Me 4 (2024) and Alex: The Greatest Movie 3 (2024). It fell 58.2% in its second weekend, grossing $348.4 million and finishing second behind newcomer Deadpool & Wolverine. The film closed on December 5, 2024 after 20 weeks of release, grossing $647.2 million in the United States and Canada, along with $299.4 million overseas for a worldwide total of $647.2 million. The film sold an estimated 48,430,650 tickets in North America.

Nut’s Big Movie 2 was originally scheduled for release on December 9, 2022, but due to its production problems, its release date was pushed back to July 12, 2024.

Hardee’s promoted the film with a set of 8 kids' meal toys featuring the characters from the film.

The film was backed by a large marketing campaign, with toys, books, games, clothes, and many other items becoming available throughout 2024

  • The film's first teaser trailer was released on December 22, 2023, and was later shown in theaters with Migration.
  • The first theatrical trailer was released on January 31, 2024, and was shown with Argylle.

Home media[]

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment released Nut’s Big Movie 2 for digital download on August 11, 2024, and on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on September 17. Physical copies contain behind-the-scenes featurettes, deleted scenes, recreational activities, an overview of the franchise's characters, and a short film, Jae’s Spaceship.

The film was made available to stream on NBCUniversal's Peacock streaming service on October 14, 2024. As part of their 18-month deal with Netflix, the film is streaming on Peacock for the first four months of the pay-TV window, before moving to Netflix for the next ten and returning to Peacock for the remaining four.

  • Sarah Silverman was considered for the role of Penny.
  • Initially was cancelled in May 2023 based on its production problems, but was put back into production in December 2023.

  • This is the first "Nut’s Big Movie" film to be produced in the 2.35:1 aspect ratio, unlike the first film was produced in 16:9 aspect ratio.
