Nicholas Anthony Benjamin Silverberg Sr. (October 21, 1897-December 28, 1978) was an American actor, author and musician. Know for his career, which spanned over 6 decades.
Early Life[]
Nicholas Anthony Benjamin Silverberg was born on October 21, 1897, in a cottage located near New Bedford, Massachusetts, as the youngest of six children to carpenter Benjamin Isadore Silverberg (February 27, 1860-October 30, 1948), and tailor Margaret Colleen Kennedy (April 2, 1861-November 29, 1928). His father was a German/Ashkenazi Jew who had fled to the United States amidst rising anti-semitism, while Margaret is of Scots-Irish descent. His oldest brother Herbert Howard Silverberg (Janaruay 4 1880-February 29, 1962) was also an actor. His family would move to Boston when he was 13.

Death and Funeral[]
Nick's health had been in decline for around 2 years. Nick would make his last public appearance on November 30, 1978, between his 81st birthday and his death.
Nick had been laying in his bed surrounded by his family in the bedroom of his appartment in San Diego, California, his last words reportedly being "Even if I didn't make it to the end of the year, I'm glad I still got to spend my last moments with you". He would fall into a coma and died 40 minutes later.
Nick's body would be flown to his hometown of Boston, where a private funeral sevice would be held for him, consisting of his family and close friends. The procession occured on January 11, 1979, and he was buried the same day.
