Trailer #1[]

(The words "Booting up// Trailer #1" appear on-screen.)

Uzi: (voice-over) We are Worker Drones; autonomous robots created by our interstellar parent company, JCJenson IN SPAAAAACCCEE!!!! But then, we were cut off by them, and sent Disassembly Drones to kill us all. So, I, Uzi Doorman, suggested we rebel against them. That is... until I met one.

(Cut to a scene from the film, where N comes out of his rebooting state.)

N: I'm Serial Designation N!

Uzi: Holy crap, it talks.

(The Sony and Columbia Pictures logos appear, as the song "Tainted Love" plays. Then show an overhead view of San Francisco. Then cut to Uzi placing a blueprint on a table.)

Uzi: I'm forming a plan to destroy all the Disassembly Drones. Well, not you, obviously, just the others.

N: Really? How are you gonna do that?

Uzi: This.

(Show a montage of Uzi prepping her railgun.)

N: Oooooh!

Uzi: Yes. I know. Beautiful.

Uzi: No. No!

N: Come on, Uzi. He's the best we've got.

Uzi: Nuh-uh. No way! Bite me!

(Uzi closes the door.)

Raymond: So is that a yes?

N: Yeah, I guess so.

(Cut to the exterior of the JCJenson headquarters. Then cut to a board meeting.)

James: The plan is going well. What else can we do that we haven’t done yet?

Board Member: Announce that the Worker Drones would receive compensation if not all of them have been disposed of?

(James laughs.)

James: Oh wait, you're serious.

(James laughs harder. The board members look confused.)

Trailer #2[]

(The words "Booting up// Trailer #2" appear on-screen.)

Voiceover: Have you ever felt tired of doing everything? Your cooking, your work, even your kids? Well, put your worries aside, with our new product: the Worker Drone!

(Show a Worker Drone.)

Voiceover: Coded with state-of-the-art technology, this robot will do anything to keep your responsibilities out of your way!

(Glitch transition to current time, where Disassembly Drones are now hunting for the Worker Drones.)

Uzi: Yep. That just happened.

(The Sony and Columbia Pictures logos appear. Cut to Uzi in a classroom. Then cut to clips of Worker Drones getting torn apart by Disassembly Drones.)

Uzi: I'm certain most, if not, all of you, know what is happening to us Worker Drones. Disabled, broken, torn apart limb-by-limb from these... Murder Drones. So that is why I, Uzi Doorman, have conceived a plan. A plan to eliminate all Disassembly Drones!

(Silence fills the room.)

Lizzy: Pssh. Yeah, right.

(Cut to Uzi and Thad in the nurse's office.)

Uzi: I just don't get it. Why isn't anyone doing anything about these so-called "Murder Drones"?

Thad: Well, to be fair, they are kinda-

Uzi: Don't say it.

Thad: What? I'm just being honest here.

(Cut to shots of Uzi grabbing stuff before exiting her apartment.)

Uzi: This curfew can kiss my-

(Smash cut to her meeting N for the first time.)

N: Hi, I'm Serial Designation N, at your service! Nice to meet you.

Uzi: Uzi Doorman. Can we discuss about what just happened?

N: Discuss what?

Uzi: You know, the whole "you trying to kill me" sort of stuff?

FROM THE REAL HEROES THAT BROUGHT YOU THE COOL STUFF

Uzi: I call it "Operation Save Worker-Kind". It's like John Wick, but more badass.

N: What's John Wick?

Uzi: It's a movie.

N: Is there a dog in it?

Uzi: Uhh… (beat) Just watch the movie when you have the chance.

(Cut to an exterior shot of an apartment complex.)

Raymond: So I see you've been looking for me.

Uzi: No. No! N, out of all the people you've found in the entire city, it had to be him, a human?!

N: Come on, Uzi. He's the best we've got. Give him a chance.

Uzi: Nuh-uh. No way! Bite me!

(Uzi exits the apartment.)

Raymond: So is that a yes?

N: Yeah, I guess so.

(Cut to the JCJenson San Francisco building in downtown.)

Raymond: Looks like these people won't know what's gonna hit them.

(Montage of security guards cocking their guns at the main group.)

Uzi: Alright, enough chit-chat, everybody! Let's pop all their heads off!

(Cut to an explosion inside the JCJenson headquarters.)

Uzi: Tonight will be the night history changes forever.

(Cut to Thad, Lizzy and Doll getting startled by a Disassembly Drone blasting through the glass of an apartment.)

Raymond: As a former servant of the country, I was born ready.

(Cut to Raymond punching a security guard in the face.)

N: Uzi?

Uzi: Yeah?

N: Hang on.

(A montage of Disassembly Drones crashing into buildings play. Then cut to James.)

James: Goddamn. That was impressive.

MURDER DRONES

(Cut to Uzi and Khan.)

Khan: Why is the wall there broken?

Uzi: What wall? (she turns to the wall) Ohhh... See, I was practicing some jiu-jitsu and I accidentally kicked the wall.

Khan: Right...

Uzi: Okay, I gotta go upstairs now! Feeling pretty exhausted from all that jiu-jitsu thing. There's totally nothing suspicious I'm hiding, LOL! Okay! Love you! Bye!

(She heads up the stairs.)

Khan: Teens these days.

Exclusive IMAX Featurette[]

(Open on a behind-the-scenes clip of Ryan Reynolds [Raymond] taking cover behind a wall, with two other stuntmen [security officers] on the other end.)

David Leitch: Ready? And action!

(Reynolds gets out and "shoots" the two stuntmen with a fake Uzi.)

David Leitch: The coolest thing about the Murder Drones movie is that it's filmed in IMAX.

(Cut to the clip where the protagonists are about to fight with security guards.)

Uzi: Let's pop all their heads off!

(Show various clips from the movie.)

Jonathan Sela: You've got all these shots of the robots flying around the screen or something wild happens, and it's all with the power of IMAX.

Shawn Levy: You can really tell that this movie was made for IMAX. You get to feel all the action while still behind the danger that our heroes face in that particular scene.

Liam Vickers: Working with IMAX was such a dream-come-true for us. It's a very honorable experience to use that format for this movie, especially being based on Murder Drones.

(Show more clips.)

Ryan Reynolds: We'd like to have the audience jump in their seats when something sudden pops up. (laughs) It's gonna be wild.

Elsie Lovelock: I can't wait to see how stellar it's going to look.

David Leitch: It's definitely gonna be awesome to watch. When that aspect ratio changes, you know you're gonna be in for a great time.

(Show clips from the climax, including: a building collapsing, and explosions in the city.)

The Art of Murder Drones[]

(Open to a few clips from the movie. Then cut to the title card.)

The Art of Murder Drones

(Cut to some scenes from the series.)

Liam Vickers: Murder Drones is a killer show. No pun intended. It's a driving force in the indie animation community, and pretty much what everyone looks forward to whenever they come across stuff like that on the internet. When the show ended, I could see that fans wanted more out of them.

(Cut to multiple scenes from the movie.)

Liam Vickers: So then I figured, "Why don't we make a new story out of these characters? After all, I did promise we'll be doing more with them at some point in the future. And even better: it's a movie."

(Cut to an action scene.)

David Leitch: The new incarnation of Murder Drones follows the story of Uzi, a rebellious Worker Drone going up against the company that made her and her fellow Worker Drones.

Paul Wernick: Now for this movie, we knew we didn't want to just rinse and repeat what happened on the show itself because it just feels unnecessary. We had to think of something new, something never tackled in the series before. Then when we were shown Liam's original draft, Rhett and I went "That's it!"

Liam Vickers: We had something going on for the pilot for Uzi. (cut to multiple scenes from the original pilot episode) Like, there was this setup of her attempting to go up against humanity.

Uzi: We're coming for them.

Liam Vickers: But of course, eldtrich horrors happened, so... yeah. That's what the rest of the show turned into.

Rhett Reese: Basically, we took what was set up in the pilot and implemented it into a real-world, modern environment but with some changes. You don't have crazy stuff happening like, "Oh, Uzi's going to destroy humanity" or "N's gonna kill Uzi." No. That's too much. We wanted to keep it on the down-low but at the same time, make it so that at least something happens, and that you're not just looking at robots talking to each other.

(Cut to a shot of Uzi.)

Elsie Lovelock: One Worker Drone against an entire corporate conglomerate isn't gonna be enough. She's gonna need a lot more help. And here, they come from the most unlikely of places.

Michael Kovach: Of course, Uzi finds this uh... Disassembly Drone named N...

(Cut to Uzi meeting N in the film.)

N: Nice to meet you!

Michael Kovach: ...and he's... very different.

(Cut to J finding a butterfly on N's nose.)

J: N, what in corporate layoff is this?

(She squishes the butterfly, much to N's sadness.)

Michael Kovach: Which, of course, is the perfect combo for one big rebel duo.

(Cut to Uzi and N striking heroic poses on a podium.)

Uzi: "Uzi, you're a hero!", "Uzi, please be my girlfriend!", yadda, yadda, yadda.

N: Ooh-hoo-hoo, that sounds awesome.

Ryan Reynolds: Now that these characters are back, this time, Uzi also finds herself teaming up with unlikely allies: humans.

(Cut to the rebel group turning around to see Raymond.)

Raymond: I think I can help you with your little rebel plan.

Angourie Rice: Only this time, it's for real.

(Cut back to Uzi and N at Raymond's apartment.)

Uzi: No.

Ryan Reynolds: This film sees Uzi navigating her conflicts besides taking down JCJenson, and trying to see the black, gray, and white areas of humanity, that... not all of them are as bad as she thinks.

Luke Lerdwichagul: Everything after that? It's just madness.

(Cut to multiple scenes from the office fight sequence.)

Kevin Lerdwichagul: Obviously, it's not Murder Drones if nothing chaotic happens. We wanted to make the best out of these characters, and if it means going into the real world and killing humans for real, then so be it.

Liam Vickers: I feel... very honored to be bringing these characters to the big screen, and I know they're all gonna kill it.

Neal H. Moritz: It's definitely going to be an awesome experience to see what we've done come to life.

Elsie Lovelock: This is going to be the most sick-as-hell cinema experience of the year, as Uzi would probably say.

(Cut to Uzi during Raymond's announcement.)

Uzi: Hell yeah!

(Cut to more fight scenes.)

Capturing the Drones[]

(Open on V shooting at the JCJenson security officers.)

David Leitch: A movie's production is not without its difficulties. One of the things that was really hard to work with was the motion capture for the Drones.

(Cut to several crew members fitting the motion capture suits on some of the voice actors.)

David Leitch: Now the reason we used motion capture instead of just animating them in post is because it's not gonna look believable when you're just looking at a puppet or something like that. They have to be there, y'know, they have to appear as if they're contributing to the actions around them.

Elsie Lovelock: It was quite the challenge, since this process was very tedious and... undoable for a lot of us on the voice cast.

Michael Kovach: This was something very new to us. Like, usually, voice actors sit in a booth and just say things. But here... yeah, it's a whole new thing entirely.

Nola Klop: But of course, just because it's difficult doesn't mean we can't adapt to it, right?

(Cut to Raymond's vehicle arriving at JCJenson's headquarters.)

David Leitch: We never really expected how much of a problem this became, but if we want to succeed in bringing this movie to life, sometimes you got to go through the needlehole.

Shawn Levy: I was amazed at how we were even able to get through such an excruciating part of the movie like this.

(Cut to Uzi's rebel team running in JCJenson's headquarters.)

Elsie Lovelock: No matter the setbacks, these characters mean something to us.

Nola Klop: We're always going to be dedicated to giving our best shot.

(Smash cut to multiple scenes in the film.)

Return of the Voices[]

Uzi: Alright, everybody!

(Cut to the crew driving off to JCJenson's headquarters.)

David Leitch: I think a big highlight of this movie is that we brought back the voice actors of the Drones to voice them again.

Liam Vickers: Who else could be better for voicing the Drones than the people we worked with on the show? It just wouldn't feel the same without them, not even if we used AI replicas! Which we never will!

(Cut to Elsie Lovelock and Michael Kovach performing motion capture for Uzi and N.)

Michael Kovach: I will admit, going back to these guys in a big-budget project like this was a very amazing opportunity to have as a voice actor.

Elsie Lovelock: I really loved playing Uzi when the show was still running. (cut to numerous clips of Uzi from the film) She's like a fragment of myself that I had the pleasure of bringing to life, and I'm very stoked to be back.

Caitlin Dizon: It's crazy how each and everyone of these guys have made a lot of people invested in them. Like if your favorite character does something, you're gonna go full fan mode.

Shara Kirby: As long as I get to talk down on N as J, it's fun times all around.

(Cut to J finding a butterfly on N's nose.)

J: N, what in corporate layoff is this?

(She squishes the butterfly, much to N's sadness.)

Sean Chiplock: Every one of my fellow voice actors never disappointed in giving their all for this movie.

David Leitch: They're all so talented in what they do. They're very stellar.

Shawn Levy: The amount of effort and dedication they brought into bringing these characters to their fullest energy is astounding.

Neal H. Moritz: Only these guys can really bring life to the drones that they play in the film.

(Cut to Uzi powering up her railgun and shooting at some JCJenson security officers, then to the personnel in the JCJenson boardroom looking at X killing a Worker Drone offscreen.)

James: That was impressive.

David J. Dixon: We feel very honoured to contribute to such an astounding popcorn movie.

Elsie Lovelock: These characters mean something to us.

Michael Kovach: They've been able to resonate with even ourselves as much as they have with everyone else who watched Murder Drones.

Nola Klop: We see all of you, and we want you to know, you're in for a real treat.

Elsie Lovelock: This movie's going to be one big rollercoaster. (laughs in her Uzi voice)

(Cut to a split-second of N tackling Uzi in the final battle, then smash cut to black. Fade to Emma Breezy turning her head creepily to the camera.)

Emma Breezy: Are you ready?

(Cut to Uzi her team walking out of the JCJenson San Francisco office, a truck exploding, Khan driving a car, and the bombs in the JCJenson San Francisco building going off.)

MURDER DRONES

(Cut to black, then fade to the main eight members of the voice cast.)
