Muppet RaceMania: Remastered is a 2020 racing video game developed by Traveller's Tales and published by Gameloft and Disney Interactive for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. It is an HD remastered and expanded version of the 2000 racing game Muppet RaceMania, released on its 20th anniversary. Unlike its original incarnation, Muppet RaceMania: Remastered has a plot to justify its gameplay. Robin, Kermit the Frog's nephew, has returned home to the swamp on the last day of school before the summer break, and he can't decide what to do first. Kermit suggests that he and Robin go racing, but the other Muppets hear the news and wish to go racing with them.
Muppet RaceMania: Remastered features playable Muppet characters and vehicles. Where the original game contained 28 tracks, 24 of them based on the six Muppet movies released at the time, players can now race on 46 tracks based on locations from the Muppets franchise (mainly their eight feature films), compete in battle modes, and complete stunt courses and adventure modes. However, where the original game featured 25 playable Muppets and 25 vehicles, this version features 65 playable characters (once you complete a boss battle, the boss character becomes playable across all modes) and 65 vehicles at launch. The game also includes 13 downloadable content packs which include 100 additional playable characters.
