Mountown: Attack of the Underground is a 2007 action-comedy video game developed by Taj Asbury and Nathan Asbury. It was made as a Wii exclusive, which has been criticised about. It was released on July 6, 2007.
Story[]
There is multiple stories in the game. One of them is when Jay wins 1 Billion Dollars and the family goes for a trip to France. On the way, Alex goes to the bathroom and find that the pilots are smoking cigarettes, and they throw Alex off. He tries to hold on the the back wing, but fails to and falls down a hole. At the bottom, there is nuclear poop which look like regular people and they ask him to mold the weird looking poop into humans. Alex does, and gets a ride to France, just in time to go back on the plane.
Sometimes, their is a message to try a different ending e.g. They can have the same story above but Alex can hold on the back wing for the entire plane trip. Once people have done all the endings, they can play as their Mii's.
Production[]
In 2006, Taj had an idea about making a Mountown video game. When he pitched the game to Activision, he said that he could do it because its a video game and not an episode of the show, refering to the hate of The Simpsons episode The Principal and the Pauper, so they said yes. He and his dad Nathan, who was a video game developer to do the game. They finished in early 2007 and the trailer was first shown at E3 2007.
Sales[]
The sales of the game did good in the first month, even know it was only sold on one console. Toasted TV on Ten in Australia gave away a Wii console with the game. The winner was Anna Smith in WA. Taj got 40% of the sales of the game.
Reception[]
The game has mixed reviews by critics. IGN gave it a 6/7.10 for its creativity and humor, but they disliked how it was only on one console. IMDB gave it a 7.3/10 review for the same as IGN, but also for that it used the old animation.
Ratings[]
The United States gave Mountown: Attack of the Underground a T for Teen rating for its gross humor and use of smoking in its story. Australia gave it a PG, but the PEGI had it as 12 for The gambling at the start of the game.
