Mortal Kombat XII: New Age, also known as Mortal Kombat 12, is a fighting game created by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It is the 12th main installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise and the sequel to 2019's Mortal Kombat 11. It uses the Unreal Engine 5, and is to release on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Nintendo Switch in Q3 2023.

Mortal Kombat XII: New Age takes place after the events of the good ending of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath, following Liu Kang recreating the universe, with the intention of beridding it of evil forever. But things never go as planned...

- Lord Liu Kang (voiced by Matthew Yang King) - The Titan of Time, as well as the God of Thunder and Fire. Once a Shaolin monk, and the champion of the Mortal Kombat tournament.
- Onaga (voiced by TBD) - Also known as the "Dragon King". An ancient ruler of Outworld, preceding Shao Kahn. He makes his return as the main antagonist.
- Raiden (voiced by Richard Epcar) - Formerly the God of Thunder, Raiden is now the messenger of Lord Liu Kang. He still retains a bit of his lightning powers, but is a shadow of his former self.
- Fujin (voiced by Bob Joles) - A demi-god, and Raiden's brother. A protector of Earthrealm. He can manipulate the power of anything relating to wind, controlling it to his will.

- The Great Kung Lao (also voiced by Sunil Malhotra) - The ancestor of Kung Lao, and the first human from the Order of the Light to appear in the Mortal Kombat Tournament. He appears in the prologue with Lord Liu Kang, following the epilogue of Mortal Kombat 11: Aftermath.

- Doom Slayer (sounds by Matthew Waterson) - From the DOOM franchise. An immortal super soldier imbued with divine powers, and is capable of travel between the realms.
- Kratos (voiced by Christopher Judge) - From the God of War franchise. Kratos' second appearance in a Mortal Kombat game after being a guest fighter in Mortal Kombat (2011). An ash-covered warrior who is the son of Zeus, having slain almost all of the Greek pantheon. He now sports a beard, and wields the Leviathan Axe as his primary weapon, as opposed to the Blades of Chaos.
- Atreus (voiced by Sunny Suljic) - From the God of War franchise. Kratos' teenage son. A proficient archer, who is also the Norse God Loki of his universe.
- Dovahkiin (voiced by Clancy Brown) - From The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The Last Dragonborn, of whom is a mortal with the soul of a dragon, and is capable of using the Thu'um.
- Serana (voiced by Laura Bailey) - From The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawnguard. A pure-blooded vampire, a Daughter of Coldharbour from Clan Volkihar.
- Homelander (voiced by Antony Starr) - From The Boys. A villainous "superhero" who is exceptionally ruthless with his methods.
- Ash Williams (voiced by Bruce Campbell) - From The Evil Dead franchise. Notorious for being a slayer of the "Deadites", and for his chainsaw arm. He also wields a sawed-off double barrel shotgun.
- Michael Myers (no voice) - From the Halloween franchise. A notorious killer who gained the nickname "The Boogeyman", and is believed to gain more power from every time he kills a person.

- Anubis (voiced by TBD) - The Egyptian God of the Underworld, embodied from an archaeologist who uncovered a mysterious "ore" that cursed him to become Anubis. Heavily inspired by the incarnation of Anubis from 1994's War Gods.
- Bayonetta (voiced by Hellena Taylor) - The titular character of the Bayonetta series. An Umbra Witch, talented in the Bullet Arts.
- Levi Ackerman (voiced by Matthew Mercer) - From Attack on Titan. The captain of the Survey Corps., regarded as "humanity's strongest soldier".
